Justin Timberlake Heads To Mexico After Britney Spears Memoir Backlash

There are a lot of people who are not happy with Justin Timberlake after reading what pop star Britney Spears had to say about him in her memoir, "The Woman In Me," which was released last Tuesday.
The two dated almost two decades ago, from 1999 to 2002, but in her tell-all memoir, the now 41-year-old pop star reflected on allegations of infidelity and even an unplanned pregnancy in her tell-all book. Although the "Cry Me A River" singer disabled comments on his Instagram page to try to escape the backlash, fans started bombarding the Instagram page of his wife, actress Jessica Biel.
It looks like "The Social Network" actor is looking to get out of the spotlight for a little while, taking his wife and two children away to Mexico while waiting for the heat from Britney's memoir to blow over.
Justin Timberlake Says ‘Bye Bye Bye’ To LA Amid Britney Spears Memoir Backlash
The former *NSYNC boy bander was seen touching down in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on Monday. Ironically, that is a popular hotspot that Britney Spears likes to travel to on occasion. In photos obtained by the Daily Mail on Monday, Justin was photographed exiting a private jet wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, gray sweatpants, white sneakers, and a baseball cap.
He held his youngest son, Phineas, 2, as he walked from the plane to a golf cart that was waiting for him. His wife, Jessica Biel, and his son Silas, 8, were not photographed, but they were reportedly with the “Mirrors” crooner for a family vacation. This is the first time that the 42-year-old singer was photographed since Britney’s memoir was released last Tuesday.
It looks like Justin is trying to keep a low profile and not stir up any more drama, as a source told Page Six that he disabled comments on his Instagram posts due to the “hateful, disgusting things people were saying” about him online. The backlash has gotten so bad that even Lance Bass stepped in to ask fans to stop.
Lance Bass Asks Fans To Show 'A Little Forgiveness' Toward Justin Timberlake
On Saturday, October 28, TMZ caught up with Lance at LAX, who said that he hadn’t read Britney’s memoir yet, but planned to read it on the plane. When asked about the backlash that Justin was facing, Lance said, “I mean, everyone has their own opinion. I just feel like the world is so full of hate right now that we need to practice a little forgiveness. Britney did. So let’s take a note from her.”
“Everyone deserves to tell their story. She did, and you know, I hope the fans can, again, find some forgiveness, right?” he continued. When asked if he had talked to Justin, Lance replied, “I’m not going to talk about my conversation.” He also revealed that there were no plans for a tour or a new *NSYNC album, but he would keep his fingers crossed that it might happen in the future!
Britney Spears’ High School Boyfriend Calls Justin A ‘Piece Of S---'
Unfortunately for Justin Timberlake, not everyone seems quick to show him forgiveness. Britney’s high school boyfriend, Donald ‘Reg’ Jones, 45, had a very strong reaction to finding out that Britney and Justin navigated an unplanned pregnancy during their three-year relationship. “Any man that is gonna ask a woman to have an abortion? Then he is a piece of s--- in my book,” Jones told The Post on Friday, adding, “My heart goes out to her.”
In an excerpt of “The Woman In Me,” published by People magazine one week before the memoir was officially released, the "Toxic" singer revealed that she had an at-home abortion after Justin made it clear "that he didn’t want to be a father."
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she wrote in her memoir. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” she continued, adding, “To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”
Britney Spears’ tell-all memoir, “The Woman In Me,” was officially released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
