Fan Letter To Chandler Bing Explodes On Matthew Perry's Instagram

The shock death of Friends star Matthew Perry is still fronting news as fans and celebrities mourn his loss. On October 28, Matthew was pronounced dead at the age of 54.

He is said to have died by drowning in his hot tub following a pickleball game that lasted two hours. Unsurprisingly, the outpouring of grief is most active on Matthew's Instagram, where his final photo showed him chilling in his Jacuzzi at night. The actor posted five days prior to his death, with many now trying to link the image to the report of him being found unresponsive and reportedly in his hot tub.

Now, a fan letter to the Chandler Bing character played by Perry has exploded on his feed.

Matthew, who starred in every episode of the 1994-commenced series Friends, is said to have sent his assistant out to run an errand prior to being found unresponsive.

The fan comment has been left to the final image of the sitcom star in his hot tub. It mentions character Chandler's on-screen buddies: Ross, Joey, Rachel, Phoebe, and eventual wife Monica, played by Courteney Cox.

"Dear Chandler, I hope you and Monica are living the life you dreamt of; sitting on the patio in the evening and watching Jack and Erica growing up. I hope Ross hasn't divorced again with Rachel. Also, how are Phoebe and Joey? You probably know by now that Matthew has moved to the other side where his past haunts no more," the note begins.

The fan then mentioned Perry's well-documented battles with addiction, his "poor upbringing" and family problems. Here, the user noted that Matthew's on-screen character was the "ideal friend" and a great boyfriend. Likewise, an "amazing husband" and father. The final point references the twins that Chandler and Monica eventually welcome via a surrogate.

Shifting back to Perry, the user continued: "Do you know after the show ended, Matthew finally overcame his abusive past and wrote a memoir, built Perry House in Malibu-a sober living facility for men growing up like him and wrote a play- The End of Longing which contained his personal message for the world. I think by the end he too realised he made it but if only he knew the true vastness and depth of his impact on the world. If only he could see all the love pouring from every corner just for him."

The cause of death, per a coroner's autopsy, is still deemed "inconclusive" as the world awaits to hear exactly how Matthew died. Meanwhile, the Instagram post has gained over 1,000 likes as fan tributes pour in. A popular reply even wished that Matthew had gone to Yemen. The user was clearly referencing a Friends episode here as Chandler talked about Yemen while trying to wiggle his way out of dating on-screen girlfriend Janice.

Mass tributes have also come in from the celebrity world. Penning notes have been stars including Cruel Intentions actress Selma Blair, mogul Gwyneth Paltrow, and former costar Hank Azaria.

His "Fools Rush In" costar Salma Hayek was one of the latest to pay tribute.
