The person involved in the play, Matt Petgrave, was the hockey player whose skate slit Adam Johnson's neck during the game Saturday, resulting in Johnson passing away.

Now, fans of the sport are claiming that Petgrave needs to be charged with manslaughter as the play was "dirty." The word "manslaughter" is even trending on Twitter.

Another fan of the sport agreed that. Petgrave needs some sort of punishment as it "certainly looks like a deliberate kick."

And a former hockey player chimed in, also agreeing that Petgrave needs to be charged. "As a former player, I agree. I’m thinking a “knee to knee” gone horribly wrong," they said, adding, "Should absolutely be charged with manslaughter."

As one user pointed out, "Look how he skates off afterward you can see he intended to ‘hit’ him… he shows no actual shock or feeling to what just happened."

Of course, any injury during a sporting event rarely results in a criminal charge. And, it's unclear if the authorities are even investigation this incident as a possible crime. But, it hasn't stopped fans from giving their opinion on the situation.
