Tupac Shakur's Memorabilia From Prison Time Turns Up For Sale With Hefty Prices

One lucky person or more will soon be the owner of two new pieces from Tupac Shakur's past.

According to a report, a booking photo and identity card from the rapper's stay in prison are up for sale for $35,000 and $75,000, respectively.

It comes after Shakur's murder suspect, Duane "Keefe D" Davis, was arrested by the police on a charge of one count of murder with a deadly weapon.

Per a new report, a pair of items from Shakur's prison time at Clinton Correctional Facility in New York is currently up for sale. The rap legend stayed in the facility in 1995 after being convicted on sexual abuse charges.

One of the infamous pieces is a black and white mug shot of Shakur, in which he sported his signature bald hairstyle. The photo captures the rapper both directly facing the camera and in a side profile, the traditional style commonly seen in booking photos.

The second memorabilia is a laminated Shakur ID featuring his photo, name, date of issue, DOB, and other physical traits. It is believed that the ID is a replacement for the one he lost a few months into his prison stay. Whoever gets the ID will also go home with the form the rapper filled out when he requested it.

TMZ reports that the two relics from Shakur's past will be sold on Momentsintime.com. The booking photo is believed to be on sale for the hefty sum of $35,000.

Meanwhile, the ID will cost more than twice the mug shot, at $75,000. This price also beats the $30,000 the OG ID was sold for by Heritage auctions in 2019.

As to how the latest relics came about, it is alleged that Shakur gave the items to a family member following his stint in prison. It eventually ended up being owned by a private collector after years of being passed around.

Other pieces from Shakur's history have also turned up in recent times. This includes a letter the rapper wrote to his then-girlfriend that was sold for $21,000 in 2019. Additionally, Shakur wrote a poem about his close friend Jada Pinkett Smith, featured in Staci Robinson's new biography about him.

The police recently took a step further in finding justice for the rap legend who was murdered in 1996 during a drive-by shooting. They arrested Duane "Keefe D" Davis, the only living suspect in the case after a search warrant months ago turned up items that might serve as evidence.

Per reports, Davis had "openly mocked the prospect of justice for many years" prior to his arrest and would often brag about being instrumental in the death of the hip-hop legend.

A source said, per The Sun. "He felt that the police were never going to take action against him two decades after the killing; he almost went into hyperdrive talking and boasting about his role in the death."

"He'd be at parties and events, enjoying the limelight, being considered the man who knew the secrets of how Tupac passed," the insider added.

Following Davis' careless remarks over the years, he became a person of interest in the cold case. The police authorities then reached out to the DA office, who gave them the go-ahead to charge the suspect.

Upon his arrest, Davis was charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon. A grand jury also agreed that the self-acclaimed gangster could get up to 20 additional years for gang activity if he gets convicted.

Davis' role as the alleged shot-caller in the death of Shakur is said to be the legal ground the prosecutors are working with to make their case.

"Under Nevada law, you can be charged with a crime whether you are directly involved or whether you are an aider or an abettor," DA Steve Wilson told The Sun, adding, "If you helped somebody commit a crime, you are equally guilty."
