Matthew Perryplayed the iconic character, Chandler Bing, for 10 seasons on the hit sitcom “Friends," and his co-stars are addressing his death.

He and the other five "Friends" became extremely close on set, so after they learned of Perry's passing, they decided to release a joint statement.

Matthew Perry was best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the famous sitcom, ‘Friends,’ where he appeared alongside Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller/Bing), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Matt LeBlanc(Joey Tribbiani), and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay).

After the cast learned of Perry's tragic passing, the five co-stars released a statement, expressing how much he meant to each one of them.

"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family," their statement reads. "There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss."

"In time we will say more, as and when we are able," the statement continues. "For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."

The message is then signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, and Schwimmer.

Despite falling in love and getting married on “Friends”, Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox’s off-screen relationship remained a friendship. “There was a rule that we had, it was really important to the six of us, that we kept a friendship; that we were friends. And if we were hooking up or if there was any strangeness going on, that might mess with things,” Perry said in May 2021 when promoting the “Friends: The Reunion” HBO Max special.

“So, we kept a friendship, and we did become really good friends. And we are really good friends to this day,” he added.

​​Paget Brewster, who portrayed Kathy on “Friends”, released a heartfelt statement to her on-screen love interest, Chandler, played by Perry, after finding out about his passing.

“I’m so very sad to hear about Matthew Perry,” she wrote, adding, “He was lovely to me on ‘Friends’ and every time I saw him in the decades after.”

The “Friends” actress also asked fans to “please read his book” as “it was his legacy to help”. Brewster is referring to Perry’s 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing”, in which he opened up about his life and his struggle with alcohol and drugs.

The "Friends" actress then pointed out that “[Perry] won’t rest in peace though.. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there.”

Morgan Fairchild, who portrayed Chandler Bing's mom on the sitcom, spoke out on social media, writing:

"I’m heartbroken about the untimely death of my “son”, Matthew Perry. The loss of such a brilliant young actor is a shock. I’m sending love & condolences to his friends & family, especially his dad, John Bennett Perry, who I worked with on Flamingo Road & Falcon Crest. #RIPMatthew."
