Kyle Richards Spills 'Bedroom' Tea Amid Separation From Mauricio Umansky

Kyle Richards is out here spilling all the "bedroom" tea on her sudden separation from her husband, Mauricio Umansky.

The pair, who met in 1994, called it quits on their marriage in July and shared the news in a joint Instagram statement. Now, she’s speaking more about their time together and setting the record straight per their separation.

Since the separation news, Richards and Umansky have kept things very civil, with Richards throwing all her weight behind the real estate mogul as he embarked on his dancing quest on "Dancing With The Stars."

Richards just admitted that she initiated the divorce process and not Umansky in an emotional conversation with Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen."

When Cohen asked Richards if "the divorce was a mutual decision or one of you was the driving force behind the separation," she replied, "It originated from me." Cohen then asked her to explain how their family handled the separation. She shared that "when the news first came out, it was really, really devastating."

She continued that her kids were crying and their phones were going off, but things have since calmed down, and they are one happy family again. Richards expressed gratitude for having her kids, whom she described as her "best friends," who have displayed strength through everything.

The interview, which appeared on the show's official YouTube page, showed Cohen probing Richards further about their living arrangement since the separation. The socialite revealed she and Umansky still live together but in separate bedrooms. In her words:

"I let him stay in the primary bedroom ‘cause it’s very masculine, and the upstairs floor’s like the glam, and there’s like, a bed. And I was like, ‘What am I going to do? Put him in a room with flowers and pink and velvet? No."

The American actress also spoke about her rumored romance with pal Morgan Wade. She described the country singer as "absolutely one of my best, best friends in the world." The 54-year-old squashed the rumors further by saying:

"If she didn’t have all those tattoos, people would not say that. I mean, I’m with my friends all the time, they don’t pay attention."

However, Richards's POV is completely different from Umansky, who still had hopes for their relationship, at least according to his statement earlier in the month. The entrepreneur shared that while they are separated at the moment, he still intends to salvage what is left of their 27-year-old marriage.

"We’ve been married for 27 years, 26 amazing years. Kyle is my best friend, she’s an amazing human, I love her… And marriages go through difficult times, sometimes, and that’s what we’re dealing with right now. We’ll let our fans know when we know what our life is gonna be like, but in the meantime, we’re fighting [for our marriage]."

Umansky is, however, pleased that the split has brought his family closer, and his “daughters are actually very pleased” to be having a more real and open conversation with the family.

Still, regarding support and solidarity, Richards uniquely and shockingly went the extra mile to drum up support for Umansky after their split. Richards uploaded a picture of Umansky and his dance partner on her Instagram and added voting links in the caption.

The move sent social media into a frenzy as they questioned the real status of their separation in the comments. Richards reaffirmed her support for Umansky by appearing with him at the "DWTS" studio in Los Angeles to prepare for the premiere episode.

Per The Blast, the process of separation has not been rosy due to their celebrity status. In her words, "You know, this has been very hard to do. [It’s] playing out with so many people having eyes on us and being in the public eye."

The pair tied the knot in 1996 after meeting at a nightclub in 1994 and are proud parents to three daughters.
