Britney Spears Describes Paris Hilton As ‘The Kindest’ In Her Memoir

Pop star Britney Spears is reflecting on Paris Hilton as one of the "kindest" people she has ever met in her memoir, "The Woman In Me."

The two have shared a longtime friendship, but fans were touched to see how the "Stars Are Blind" singer really "helped [her] out" when the "Toxic" singer needed it the most.

On Tuesday, Paris Hilton took to social media to share a gift-wrapped copy of "The Woman In Me" along with a card that read, “This book has been a labor of love, and reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional to say the least.”

It looks like the card was signed by Britney herself. “I can’t wait to read @britneyspears new book💗 so proud of you sis🫶,” Paris wrote in the caption.

In her memoir, Britney took a look back at her infamous party days with both Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, noting that they were "never as wild as the press made it out to be." She said that taking drugs during those days made her feel "less depressed" and confessed that she turned to the ADHD medication Adderall as her “drug of choice” after her breakup with Justin Timberlake, who she claimed cheated on her “a couple of times” during their three-year relationship.

During that time period, Britney emphasized that she "never had a drinking problem" and was never interested in any hard drugs besides Adderall. “[It] made me high, yes, but what I found far more appealing was that it gave me a few hours of feeling less depressed,” she wrote.

Still, it was a rough time for the pop star, and Britney revealed that Paris Hilton was "kindest to me when I really needed kindness" when she was struggling with postpartum depression after her divorce, as per People magazine.

"So much of America dismissed her as a party girl, but I found her elegant — the way she posed on the red carpet and always had an arched eyebrow when anyone was mean about her," the pop star wrote in her memoir. "She saw that I had babies and that I was suffering from the breakup, and I think she felt sorry for me. She came over to my house, and she helped me out so much. She was just so sweet to me."

In 2004, Britney started dating former backup dancer Kevin Federline, although their divorce was finalized only three years later after they had welcomed two kids together: Sean Preston, now 18, and Jayden James, now 17. In terms of their early relationship, Britney wrote, "I held on to him like there was no tomorrow," adding, "I thought Kevin would give me the stability I was craving — and the freedom, too."

Unfortunately, Britney says that he was eventually overwhelmed by fame after running into Justin Timberlake and Lindsay Lohan at a party. In her memoir, Britney recalled:

"One time he came home late and told me he’d been at a party. 'Justin Timberlake was there!' he said. 'Lindsay Lohan was, too!' Kevin was just so enthralled with the fame and the power. Again and again in my life I’ve seen fame and money ruin people, and I saw it happen with Kevin in slow motion."

After welcoming one son in 2005 and another in 2006, Kevin decided to rebrand as K-Fed and attempt to start a rap career. "He was in the studio all the time," Britney wrote. "He really thought he was a rapper now. Bless his heart — because he did take it so seriously."

Reflecting on their divorce, Britney wrote, "I was young, and I made a lot of mistakes. But I will say this: I wasn’t manipulative. I was just stupid," adding, "That’s one thing Justin and Kevin ruined about me. I used to trust people. But after the breakup with Justin and then my divorce, I never really did trust people again."
