Man Robbed At Gunpoint After LA Freeway Car Accident

The alarming incident reportedly happened yesterday afternoon on the 10 Freeway between Crenshaw & Arlington. As the clip shows, a passerby on the expressway recorded a group of men donned in black outfits disembarking from a grey minivan all wearing face masks. Around four to five men were seen carrying out the distasteful and brutal act.

While shouting "hands up" they approach the crash victim, a male, who seemed to still be processing the accident. His black vehicle was badly crashed with the airbag inflated, the side compressed, and smoke emanating from the hood.

However, his safety was not important as the armed men instructed him to get on his knees and raise his hands while they ransacked his vehicle. You can see them picking something from the front seat before proceeding to search his trunk. The robbers had a white Ford waiting next to the crashed vehicle as their getaway car.

What is even more wild is that witnesses on the expressway slowed down to closely observe the madness but that didn't seem to deter the armed robbers. Another man was even seen walking behind the band of robbers, recording what was happening with his phone.

One of the masked men tried to intimidate the eyewitness who was recording, but it seems he was instructed by his colleague to ignore and reach for something else in the trunk of the victim, so they could get away as soon as possible.

Based on the start of the video, the attack seemed quite premeditated. Also, the caption of the clip, shared by Street People of Los Angeles on Instagram, describes the incident.

"Insane video from the 10 freeway yesterday afternoon between Crenshaw & Arlington showing a victim being chased by 2 vehicles and at least 4 suspects causing him to crash on the shoulder. Armed suspects then exit the vehicles and appear to rob the victim who has his hands up, then search his car before taking off," the accompanying caption read.

Internet Users Laments Los Angeles Literally Becoming The Purge

Another fan wrote, "The dude videoing is a hero. Try this in Texas or AZ, a freeway full of armed citizens aerate these turds," while this user supported the sentiment, adding, "Man, it’s weird that these strongarm robberies aren’t happening nearly as often in states where everyone carries guns…"

This frustrated citizen commented, "Smh. LA is literally the Purge every day," while this fan agreed, writing, "LA is not OK."

Others, however, blamed the appalling incident on the lack of guns in LA. "But if you were to stop and shoot them, the DA would throw the book at you and send you to prison for life, and if the people you shot survive, they'd be allowed to sue you and probably not spend a day in Jail," one person commented.

Another similar comment read, "Always carry! I’d rather explain it to the judge, than police officer explaining it to my family."

Another comment read, "This is why California needs to be open carry. This would never have happened." Some commenters shared theories about what might have caused the robbery.

A follower speculated, "This was NOT random. They knew exactly what to go after. Maybe a diamond courier? Or he just had a big payment from a casino?"

Los Angeles Authorities are yet to issue a public statement about the incident.
