Pop star Britney Spears is making a lot of money from her memoir, "The Woman In Me."

Although it was only released on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, thanks to preorder sales, the book quickly became the best-selling memoir by any celebrity in history. It's not clear just yet how much the now 41-year-old pop star stands to make from the tell-all book, but it's been reported that she is making at least a quarter of the profits.

Britney Spears Is Reportedly Getting 25% Of 'The Woman In Me' Memoir Profits

On Wednesday morning, the "Toxic" singer took to social media to thank her fans for making her book the best-selling celebrity memoir in history. "It’s happening ✨🤓📖 !!! My book is the highest-selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1 !!! Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive !!! Love you all 🌹 !!!" she wrote in the caption.

Fans are understandably excited for the singer, who was subject to a controversial 13-year conservatorship from February 2008 to November 2021. Later in the day, sources told TMZ that Britney is going to profit majorly from her book, pulling in 25% of book sales.

Although there were reports that Britney was initially offered a $15 million advance on her book, sources told the outlet that it was actually $12.5 million. More than 400,000 copies of her book have been sold so far. The book currently retails for $23.05 on Amazon, down from $32.99. The book costs $16.99 on Kindle while the audio CD is being sold for $29.69.

Although Britney recorded the audio introduction to her memoir, the audiobook itself is narrated by Michelle Williams. However, sources say that the real voice behind the memoir is Cade Hudson, Britney’s longtime friend and manager, who kept pushing her to finish the memoir when she wanted to give up on it.

Britney Says That Has 'Moved On' And Is Looking For A 'Clean Slate' Amid Memoir Release

On Friday afternoon, the "Girl In The Mirror" singer said that she never intended to offend anyone in her memoir. Although she didn't like the headlines she was reading about what she wrote in her book, she said that the book has "given [her] closure" as she looks forward to "a better future" ahead.

“My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means !!! That was me then …that is in the past !!!” she began. “I don’t like the headlines I am reading …that’s exactly why I quit the business 4 years ago !!! Most of the book is from 20 years ago … I have moved on and it’s a beautiful clean slate from here !!!”

“I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life !!!” she continued. “Either way, that is the last of it and s— happens !! This is actually a book didn’t know needed to be written … although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future !!!”

“Hopefully I can enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood !!! Again, my motive for this book was not to harp on my past experiences which is what the press is doing and it’s dumb and silly !!!” she concluded. “I have moved on since then !! #TheWomaninMe.”

Britney Spears Confesses That Writing The Book Was 'So Hard'

Earlier in the week, the pop star took to Instagram to share a video of her playing with her dog in her bed, beginning her first slide with the photograph of a woman with a key in her chest.

"Been so busy lately and there are so many hard things to read in the news about my book !!! Writing the book was so hard 😞 !!!" she wrote in the caption. "Then I woke up this morning and said it’s all relative nothing really matters at this point 🤷🏼‍♀️ !!! As long as Snow has her Noonie the world is a better place  🌷🌷🌷!!! Psss swipe to see the killer dog 🐶 !!!"
