Britney Spears Claims Mom Lynne Spears Punished Her For Losing Her Virginity

Pop star Britney Spears claims that her mother, Lynne Spears, punished her for losing her virginity in her memoir, "The Woman In Me," which was officially released on Tuesday.

As The Blast previously reported, many fans thought that she had lost her virginity to her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, whom she had dated from 1999 to 2002. However, in her memoir, she quickly reveals that was not the case.

In a 2003 interview with W magazine, Britney Spears said that she had only slept "with one person my whole life." In her new memoir, "The Woman In Me," which was officially released on Tuesday, October 24, the "Toxic" singer is now coming clean. In the book, she reveals that the person she "lost my virginity to" was a childhood friend of her brother, Bryan Spears, who was a 17-year-old senior in high school at the time Britney was a freshman.

“It was two years into my relationship with Justin. And I thought he was The One. But I was wrong. I didn’t think he was gonna go on Barbara Walters and sell me out,” Britney had told the publication at the time, referencing the "Cry Me A River" singer's infamous interview on 20/20 earlier that year. When she asked if Britney had “kept her promise to wait until marriage,” Justin had burst out laughing.

Elsewhere in her interview with W Magazine, she went on to say, “The most painful thing I’ve ever experienced was that breakup,” adding, “We were together so long, and I had this vision. You think you’re going to spend the rest of your life together. Where I come from, the woman is the homemaker, and that’s how I was brought up — you cook for your kids. But now I realize I need my single time. You have to do your own thing.”

In an excerpt of her memoir released by the Daily Mail only one day before its official release, Britney revealed how her mother punished her for losing her virginity at age 14, although it’s not clear if Lynne, now 68, was upset at her daughter for sleeping with a boy, or if she had skipped school in order to do it.

After Britney’s older brother Bryan told on her, Lynne forced Britney to “pick up trash… like a prisoner” while her siblings snapped photos of her. Still, it was far from Britney’s only run-in with a boy while she was in high school, as she revealed in her memoir.

“One night I was sleeping at my ‘bad’ friend's house. With no warning, the guy I had a crush on snuck into the house in the middle of the night - it must have been three in the morning,” she recalled in her memoir.

“I was sleeping on the couch, and I woke up to him sitting next to me,” she continued. “He started kissing me, and then we were fully making out on the couch.” She described the moment “like a séance” because she felt as though she had “conjured him” from a dream.

“I couldn't believe my crush had just appeared out of nowhere and started making out with me,” she said, noting that the two had kissed but nothing more. She also developed another crush on one of her brother’s friends in ninth grade. This boy was three years older than her.

“That year I liked a lot of the boys in my brother's crowd,” she wrote. “As a kid, Bryan was funny - weird, in the best way. But when he was a senior he became the king of the school, an absolute bad a--. His senior year, I started dating his best friend. I lost my virginity to him.”

She admitted that she was “young” for the ninth grade, while her brother’s friend was 17. She confessed to sneaking out during the school day to see her boyfriend but noted how the relationship “ended up consuming a lot of [her] time,” which resulted in her missing multiple days of school after forging her mother’s signature.

“I would go to school like normal at 7 a.m. but leave at lunchtime, around one p.m., and spend the afternoon with him,” she wrote in her memoir. “Then he would drive me back right as school was getting out. I'd just innocently get on the bus and go home like nothing happened.”

Unfortunately, the school called to let her mother know that her daughter had missed a total of 17 days of school, prompting Bryan to fill her parents in on the whole story. “The age difference between me and this guy was huge - obviously - now it seems outrageous,” she admitted.

“So my brother, who was always very protective, started to hate him,” she continued. “When Bryan caught me sneaking out to go visit his friend, he told on me to our parents. As a punishment, I had to walk around the neighborhood all day with a bucket, cleaning up garbage like a prisoner on the highway. Bryan followed me around taking pictures as, crying, I picked up trash.”
