Suzanne Somers' Last Few Days Were Adventurous

The actress died just one day shy of her 77th birthday, and Hamel is keeping no stone unturned about her last days. The 87-year-old revealed they shared a "passionate and beautiful last kiss" and took a final road trip from Illinois to California.

The journey, which led them through Utah and Nevada, had Somers all excited as Hamel shared that she loved seeing all the nature and added:

"Suzanne and I love to see middle America and how real Americans lived. We got hooked one point on this TV show called 100 Rodeos, 100 days because we like to see how these people went together to rodeos — it was families and cowboy hats and this was the real heart of America."

Hamel disclosed that he had a vision of his beautiful wife days after she passed. Narrating the experience, the actor said, "I was alone in bed, half asleep, when I reached out for her hand, and I saw her looking at me. It felt like she was there."

He narrated their unique and classic Hollywood love story, including how they first met in the 1960s and fell in love on a houseboat. Hamel remembered Somer wearing "an anklet with a bell on it; she fit right in." Both of them lived in the Sausalito community at that time.

Hamel told Daily Mail that Somers's dying wish was that he continue to provide organic products to her ladies. She wanted her customers to have the best. Despite the good memories, Hamel has not stopped thinking about Somers for a day, and he shared that the first few days after her passing were tough on him. In his words:

'Missing Suzanne is probably not a powerful enough word; I don’t know what the word is. But for the past 55 years we didn’t even spend one hour apart."

The doting husband gave a glimpse into their close relationship and how they would 'go to sleep holding each other hands," an act he described as very special to him.

While she lay in bed in her last days, the actor gifted his wife a heartfelt handwritten love poem wrapped in her favorite color. The letter, which came just a day before her death, was read by the actress, who later passed away in her sleep. The poem read:

"My daily life encompasses things and people I love and things and people I am indifferent to. I could go on ad infinitum, but you get it. What brand of love do I feel for my wife Suzanne? Can I find it in any of the above? A resounding no!!!! There is no version of the word that is applicable to Suzanne and I even use the word applicable advisedly."

The 'Step by Step' Actress Refused The Option Of Chemotherapy

Despite her pain and struggles with breast cancer for decades, the actress never considered chemotherapy even after being suggested by her friends and family. Instead, Somers chose a more holistic approach to her treatment, including alternative medicine and bioidentical hormones.

Per The Blast, the actress did not regret her actions as she truly believed "she had lived a life beyond her wildest dreams and truly made a dent in the world." Somers disclosed the news of her breast cancer relapsing on July 31 in an emotional Instagram post as she expressed her positivity towards beating the disease and said:
