Tristan Thompson has been accused of failing to meet up with his monthly child support payment of $40,000 to his first baby mama, Jordan Craig.
Craig, who shares six-year-old Prince with the basketballer, reportedly filed an order for income withholding for support, requesting the court to instruct the Cleveland Cavaliers to stop paying Thompson's salary to him until his debt is fully paid.
Tristan Thompson Reportedly Owes Over $200,000 In Child Support Payments
In September, Craig filed to garnish her ex-boyfriend's huge wages, claiming that the NBA player began "making either partial payments or missing child support payments altogether" in November 2022.
According to reports, Tristan, who also shares two children with Khloe Kardashian, was ordered in April 2019 to pay his first baby mama $40,000 on the first day of each month until their son turns 18, as is the case in every child support case.
However, the mother-of-one claimed that Thomspon began defaulting in November 2022 when he only paid half the amount. The next month he promptly paid the full amount but in January 2023, she claims the father-of-four didn't pay a dime.
He continued with partial payments of $14,500 from February 2023 until August 2023 when he made his highest payment of $29,000. For a total of nine months, Thompson only paid $136,000 in child support payments, leaving $224,000 unaccounted for.
In her filing, obtained by Daily Mail, Craig claimed that the court issued a WRIT of Execution for child support arrears of $232,763.97. However, that seems to have done nothing. However, with Thompson's recent September contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Craig believes now is the time for Thomspon to pay up his debt.
"It is my understanding that Tristan has recently signed a contract of employment with a professional sports team, the Cleveland Cavaliers located in Cleveland, Ohio. I seek to garnish some portion of his salary in order to pay the arrears he owes me," she wrote in the filing.
Jordan is asking the court to order the Cavaliers to withhold $80,000 from Thompson's salary until the child support arrears are fully paid. As for her reason for choosing that specific amount monthly, the social media influencer wrote,
"It is my belief that Tristan signed a "veteran's minimum" contract with the Cavaliers that pays him $2.7 million per year. The $80,000 I request is certainly less than half of his monthly salary."

Thomspon returned to the Cavaliers last month after spending the first nine NBA seasons of his career with them. He played a vital role in helping the team win their first-ever NBA championship in 2016 and is quite the legend.
Craig's request comes two months after she filed an "abstract of judgment" — a document used to create a public record in the event that a debt is not honored. At the time, the internet personality didn't give any hint that the basketballer was owing any payments.
She reportedly made the filing to reinforce her rights to the monthly payment of $40,000 amid revelations that Thompson's annual earnings were reduced to $9.2 million. The playboy athlete was earning $17.7million annually in 2019 with the Cavaliers.
Craig's Sister Called Out Thompson For Being An Absent Father
Craig's legal battle against her baby daddy doesn't come as a total shocker given that her sister Kai Cyre, previously hinted that the basketballer wasn't performing his fatherly duties.
Earlier this month, Cyre took to social media to call out Thompson after an episode of "The Kardashians" where Kim Kardashian claimed the athlete "stepped up" to help with her four children amid her divorce from Kanye West.
"It has been so hard to refrain from speaking up, and out of respect for my sister’s privacy I haven’t for over seven years, but this is too much," Cyre wrote in a lengthy statement in a now-deleted Instagram post. "It’s so painful to see how Tristan can find the time to do these nice things for others but can’t seem to show up and be a real parent for my nephew Prince."
The pained sibling continued, "The fact that he can take other children to school and activities in the same city, yet never sees or speaks to his own son, unless it’s for a party or planned photo opportunity, is appalling and inexcusable."
Addressing Kim's remarks, Cyre wrote, "@KimKardashian, I don’t want to believe that you are this insensitive to the fact that he literally ignores his children. That’s nice if he’s been a good friend to you, but let’s consider our sisters before taking to global platforms to defend this man’s character."
She also addressed rumors of Thompson not paying child support, alleging that he stopped paying Prince's tuition for a long time, making her sister Craig work multiple jobs. "@RealTristan13 you are NOT a good father if you can’t be a good father to ALL of your children," she concluded her rant.
