Although P!nk has been a star since 2000, it's been revealed that she might not have even made it to the new millennium if her life circumstances had been different.

In a recent interview, the singer delved into her past as a drug addict who not only used various club drugs but also suffered an overdose in the mid-90s. Fortunately, a significant wake-up call prompted P!nk to make a positive change in her life.

P!nk Turned Her Life Around After Suffering An Overdose In A Night Club

Over the last few years, fans have become familiar with P!nk openly talking about her troubled story that started with her smoking cigarettes at the age of nine and using weed at 10-and-a-half.

She went into the dark history once again during an interview that was dedicated to her career as a top-rated singer-songwriter who has sold out more stadiums than we can count during her tours.

Starting her story, the "There You Go" hitmaker recalled that her parents endured a tumultuous relationship that often led to them "screaming at each other" and "throwing things" because they hated each other.

"And then, I got into drugs. I was selling drugs and I was kicked out of the house. I dropped out of high school. That was off-the-rails," she explained on CBS' "60 Minutes." When asked "what happened on Thanksgiving 1995," the "Just Give Me a Reason" singer detailed:

"I was at a rave and I overdosed. I was on ecstasy, angel dust, crystal…all kinds of things. And I was out [cause] I'd done too much."

That incident was the "end of hard drugs" for P!nk as she ultimately turned her focus to music and landed a short-lived stint as the lead singer for an all-girl group. After successfully crossing the hurdle of drugs, the next "tough" thing she has undertaken would be her marriage.

Over her decades-long marriage to her husband, Carey Hart, the duo have created numerous memories together, from touring the world to making music videos and supporting each other's dreams. To deal with the challenges that come with having such a busy schedule while giving their all in their union, the pair have taken to seeking guidance through counseling.

As reported by The Blast in June, the mother of two announced that she and her man were taking counseling seriously when she appeared at the University of Bolton Stadium for a performance. She'd stated at the time:

"This is what they teach in marriage counselling: Remorse, regret, resolution. I'll start that tomorrow."

Amidst her many troubles, P!nk has also enjoyed and celebrated many career achievements, with one of them being a headline show in a stadium in Wisconsin. What made it a remarkable feat was that up until she performed there, no other woman had.

In other words, the Kids Choice Awards winner became the first woman to headline a stadium in the midwestern U.S. state. She celebrated the milestone with a post shared to her Instagram feed, which featured an image of her in the empty stadium and this caption that began:

"Milwaukee. Soundcheck. I was just told that I am the very first female to ever headline a stadium in Wisconsin and that we broke the attendance record. Sometimes I don't know why they are looking at me when they tell me these things. I feel like saying… 'me?? Are you sure??'"

Continuing, the Echo Award recipient added, "Here's what I have to say about all of this. I'll try to keep it short. I am a little fiery ball of gratitude catapulting around the world trying to spread love and truth and the courage to feel everything we can feel."

Wrapping up, P!nk touched on her feelings for long-standing fans, writing, "And we have history, too. We've been doing this together for a while now. It means the world to me. It is never lost on me. We aren't the cool kids, Thank God. We're just gritty, magnificent humans doing our best. Thank you for letting me in."

The depth of the singer-songwriter's words wasn't lost on her 10.3 million followers, who have liked the post more than 275k times since it was uploaded in August.
