Britney Spears Is Trying To Feel More ‘Compassion’ For Jamie Lynn Spears

Pop star Britney Spears is attempting to feel more compassion for her estranged sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.

The 41-year-old pop star has been sharing a lot of information about her family in her memoir, “The Woman In Me,” which will officially be released on Tuesday, October 24, but not a lot of information has been released so far about her strained relationship with her sister. Consider how the "Zoey 101" star wrote at length about the Princess of Pop in her January 2022 memoir, "Things I Should Have Said," fans are looking forward to hearing Britney's version of events.

It seems that Britney Spears is working to make amends with her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, saying that she often felt protective of her younger sister when she was growing up in her memoir, according to People magazine.

“She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. I’m working to feel more compassion than anger toward her, and everyone who I feel has wronged me. It’s not that easy,” Britney wrote.

In her book, the “Toxic” singer said that the “Sweet Magnolias” actress “ruled the roost” growing up, leaving Britney feeling like the “ghost” child to her parents, Jamie Spearsand Lynne Spears.

“I can remember walking into the room and feeling like no one even saw me,” Britney wrote. “Jamie Lynn only saw the TV. My mother, who at one time had been the person I was closest to in the world, was on another planet... I’d listen to her spew these hateful words, and I’d turn to my mother and say, ‘Are you going to let this little witch talk to you like that?’ I mean, she was bad.”

While Britney was emerging as the biggest name in music, Jamie Lynn tried to establish herself as an actress, being cast on the star of Nickelodeon’s “Zoey 101” in 2005. In her book, Britney recalled how she had “words” with one of Jamie Lynn’s costars on the set after her sister “complained” about the actress. Britney later admitted that the girl was “innocent” and has since apologized.

That actress is actually Alexa Nikolas, who played Nicole on the show. Alexa has spoken about the incident in the past, as previously reported by The Blast. In an hour-long interview titled, “What Really Happened On Set Of Zoey 101,” Alexa recalled how a pregnant Britney Spears went off on her after Jamie Lynn told Britney that Alexa was bullying her.

Alexa said that Britney was “yelling at me” for bullying her sister, which Alexa described as a “total black-out moment.” Although she referred to the experience as “traumatizing,” she acknowledged that Britney was “going through her own thing” at the time.

In a since-deleted Twitter post, Britney wrote a lengthy apology to Alexa. “It broke my heart to see your interview about your experience in the business … Hollywood is a place of dreams but let’s be honest … on rare occasions do people come out years later and share the dark side !!!” Britney began. “There are thousands of people with broken dreams and I am absolutely in awe of you raising awareness for the next generation on how to be protected.”

“The one thing you said you wish you could have told your younger self is that you wish you could have known you could have just walked away!!!” Britney continued. “Countless times I did the same thing and I took the abuse … it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who has felt that way … I know it’s 15 years later what you are sharing but trust me … I know it still matters !!!”

“Although I have apologized to you personally just by ‘instinct’ my heart at the time didn’t know how incredibly good my family was with the ACTING LANGUAGE !!!” Britney went on. “Just imagine … me visiting my little sister on her set, last day of shooting, bringing Sprinkles cupcakes … 9 months pregnant, hormones raging like h— and the assistant director Ian witnessing Jamie Lynn running to me, placing her hands on my knees while I’m sitting down, her sobbing telling me that she’s being bullied on set !!!”

“The assistant director and my mom included in the room were just silent !!!” Britney recalled. “My sister was literally like my daughter growing up … so I apologize for my ignorance for yelling at you when I obviously had no idea what was really going on !!!”

“Jesus Christ … I was pregnant and let’s be HONEST all these moms and dads … ‘THE WATCHFUL WHITE OWLS’ who hide behind the scenes observing their child stars … referring to my mother who should have immediately stepped in and took over the situation … and I told my 9 month pregnant self to sit down, relax and have a Sprinkles cupcake !!!”

“They should have treated me like a guest because that’s exactly what I was !!!” Britney continued. “It’s always been extremely interesting the situations my family has put me in to make me embarrassed … I know you have probably heard about what happened to me 3 years ago … I wrote 3 different versions of a book and since then, honestly it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do !!!”

“The way you spoke gave me strength and inspiration but I do write you this message today because I am sorry for ever hurting your feelings!!!” Britney concluded, adding, “You should tell Nickelodeon to kiss your a–!!!”
