Pop star Britney Spears throws some shade at her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, in her new book "The Woman In Me."

After reflecting on her first marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander, Britney took some time to discuss her marriage to K-Fed, to whom she was married from 2004 to 2007. The former couple shares two children together - Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17. Kevin moved his family to Hawaii on August 1, but it is said that Britney still keeps in contact with her sons despite the distance.

On Friday, a source told Us Weekly that Britney Spears throws shade at her ex-husband Kevin Federline in her upcoming memoir, "The Woman In Me." In her tell-all book, the insider said that Britney wrote "Bless his heart" and lamented how the now 45-year-old father was taking his rap career "so seriously" during their 3-year marriage when it ultimately didn't pan out.

Performing under the name K-Fed, he released his debut single "Y'all Ain't Ready" in 2005 along with his debut alum, "Playing With Fire" in 2006. Unfortunately, his rap career failed to take off. In her memoir, Britney remembers the public "doubting" his career move and lamenting how he was not more present in their marriage while he tried to chase his own fame.

Only months after her 55-hour-long marriage to Jason Alexander, Britney and Kevin took a trip down the aisle. The couple's private September 2004 wedding was featured on the UPN series "Britney and Kevin: Chaotic" which aired five episodes in 2005. Their short-lived marriage didn't last long. After welcoming two sons, the former couple announced their plans to split in November 2006. Their divorce was eventually settled in July 2007, mere months before Britney's 13-year conservatorship started in February 2008.

While reflecting on her marriage to K-Fed during her 2008 MTV documentary, Britney said, “I think I married for all the wrong reasons,” adding, “Instead of following my heart and, like, doing something that made me really happy. I just did it because … for just, like, the idea of everything.”

Unfortunately, Britney's conservatorship and busy career made it difficult to co-parent her two sons, who did not even attend her June 2022 wedding to actor Sam Asghari (although it's worth noting that the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce on August 16 citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split).

In September 2022, Jayden opened up on his difficult relationship with his mother in an interview with the Daily Mail. “I think Mom has struggled giving us both attention and showing us equal love and I don’t think she showed enough to Preston and I feel really bad for that,” Jayden said at the time. “We’ve both been through so much pressure in the past that this is our safe place now, to process all the emotional trauma we’ve been through to heal our mental state.”

In a deleted Instagram post shared via Us Weekly, Britney called out her son for saying that he would "pray" for her. “So Jayden, as you undermine my behavior just like my whole family always has with ‘I hope she gets better, I will pray for her’ — pray for what?” Britney asked at the time. “Do you guys want me to get better so I can continue to give your dad 40k a month? Or is the reason behind you guys deciding to behave fools is because it’s actually over in 2 years and you don’t get anything?”

“You said, ‘Mama, oh, it’ll change,'” Britney continued, lamenting how her sons never seemed to want to spend any time with her. “That one time I looked you straight in the eyes and said ‘I wanna see you more?’ You called your dad and I never saw you again.” The "Toxic" singer claimed that her sons always left “two hours early," adding, “If I didn’t shower you guys with gifts and have amazing food ready and play a mother f—king saint it was still never good enough.”

Britney admitted, "I know I'm not perfect" but asked her sons to be more understanding. “Jayden, it was a miracle I could even have a normal conversation when I got out of that place, but you were just like my other family,” she wrote at the time. “You secretly loved looking at me like something was wrong with me.”

Britney Spears' memoir "The Woman In Me" is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
