Britney Spears FINALLY Explains Why She Married First Husband Jason Alexander

Pop star Britney Spears is finally breaking her silence on her first husband, Jason Alexander.

The Princess of Pop and her childhood friend were married for only 55 hours back in 2004 before it was quickly annulled by her parents. In her memoir, she decided to open up about the drunken night together in Las Vegas that led to her first wedding.

Britney Spears has been married three times. In an excerpt from “The Woman In Me’ published by Time, Britney admitted that “He and I got s---faced” before they decided to tie the knot. She wrote, “I don’t even remember that night at all, but from what I’ve pieced together, he and I lounged around the hotel room and stayed up late watching movies … then had the brilliant idea of going to A Little White Chapel at three thirty in the morning.”

She also struck down the idea that the two had feelings for one another, insisting that they decided to do it simply because they were “bored” at the time. “People have asked me if I loved him. To be clear: he and I were not in love,” she wrote. “I was just honestly very drunk — and probably, in a more general sense at that time in my life, very bored.”

Although she said she did not take the marriage “seriously,” her family certainly did. “They made way too big a deal out of innocent fun,” Britney wrote. “Everybody has a different perspective on it, but I didn’t take it that seriously. I thought a goof-around Vegas wedding was something people might do as a joke.”

“Then my family came and acted like I’d started World War III. I cried the whole rest of the time I was in Las Vegas,” she continued. “I realized: something about me being under their control and not having a stronger connection to someone else had become very, very important to them.”

According to Page Six, Jason Alexander once alleged that Britney had the idea to get married after they “were doing drugs” together. “She just came out and asked me. She was like, ‘Well, let’s get married.’ And I was like, ‘Sure. You know, let’s do this,'” he recalled, saying that he was driven by love. “I went with my feelings,” he recalled. “I was in love with her. … I feel like she felt the same way.”

Jason claimed that he only signed the annulment papers because he had hopes that her family would let them stay in contact. Unfortunately for him, Britney went on to marry Kevin Federline only months later. They welcomed two sons, Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17. The couple split in 2007.

In 2016, Britney met actor Sam Asghari on the set of her “Slumber Pary” music video. The two became engaged in September 2021, two months before her controversial 13-year conservatorship was struck down in November 2021. The two tied the knot in June 2022, but unfortunately, Jason tried to crash the wedding.

In June 2022, a judge held the Louisiana native on one count of felony stalking with a prior and a special enhancement that he was on probation or parole, and three misdemeanor counts of trespassing, vandalism, and battery. He was also charged with felony stalking due to a prior domestic violence conviction.

Months later, in a September 2022 interview with the Daily Mail, Jason said that he did not believe that Britney was actually going to get married. “It’s all for show. A Hollywood script,” Jason said of the couple’s marriage. “I don’t think she looks happy. That whole thing is not real.”

“I couldn’t let her get married with the conversations we’ve had over the last two years,” he told the outlet. “I wasn’t there to cause harm. I was just there to Speak to Britney and make sure she was okay, and this is what she wanted.”

Unfortunately, Sam Asgharifiled for divorce on August 16, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The two recently settled a custody agreement over their five dogs.
