The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, have not forgiven Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for quitting their jobs at Buckingham Palace three years ago.
The couple is reportedly "resentful" toward them and believes that the pair's departure from the Royal Family had a negative effect on their marriage.
Kate and William have had to spend more time apart than they used to before the Duke and Duchess left. A royal expert, Andy Barr, revealed that the two couples are competitive against each other.
Prince William & Kate Middleton 'Resent' The Sussexes For Affecting Their Marriage
Three years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to leave the Royal family, it has been claimed that William and Kate are still upset about it.
A source told Closer Magazine that "Prince William and Kate are feeling incredibly resentful towards Meghan and Harry for leaving them to pick up the work they dropped when they moved to the States."
The source further noted that the workload left behind by the Sussexes was much more than they anticipated and was taking a toll on their marriage.
After Harry and Meghan decided to move abroad, Kate and William had "even more responsibility." According to the insider, the move had a " huge impact " on their marriage and family life.
"At times it can feel like they are cracking under this relentless pressure," they noted.
"With less time at home together and having to spend more time apart, they feel constantly torn apart in different directions and they insist that wouldn’t be happening if Harry and Meghan hadn’t abandoned their royal duties," the source added.
Prince Harry & Meghan Allegedly Feel 'Jealous' Of The Prince & Princess Of Wales
According to a report, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are "jealous" of their royal counterparts, William and Kate, after they applied to get their royal foundation trademark registered in the U.S.
A royal expert, Andy Barr, claimed that the envy would continue to grow if William and Kate kept chasing success in the United States.
He noted to The Mirror, "Whilst Harry and Meghan have a powerful and well established network of celebrity friends and 'fixers,' there is no substitute for being an actual, fully paid up member of the royal family."
Barr added, "Kate and William are clearly super competitive and if you combine that and the royal publicity machine in full swing, you can't see much getting in there."
While he loves "brand Meghan and Harry," Barr believes if William and Kate want "to crack America, as rumoured, they would do so with far greater ease and speed than their power couple rivals."
The Duke & Duchess May Try To Compete With Prince William & Kate Middleton
Following news that William and Kate plan to increase their reach in America, experts believe that The Duke and Duchess will try to compete with them. On an episode of "The Royal Beat," Kate Mansey spoke about the silent competition between the couples. She explained that William and Kate were "more open" than the Sussexes to painting the Royal Family in a positive light.
Mansey noted that the Wales would show the public "why they are separate and why they are different, whilst also being of the people, for the people."
She added that Prince William's willingness to be more open, such as when he talked about going for a run in Central Park, would make the public compare the couples more often.
"Obviously, people will draw that comparison with the paparazzi chase with Meghan and Harry in New York..." Mansey said.
The Public's Attention Will Soon Turn To The Royal Family
With a new season of Netflix's "The Crown" coming soon, the public's attention will be entirely on the Royal Family.
Princess Kate will be introduced next month in the sixth season, along with new family members. Actress Meg Bellamy caught viewers' attention as she appeared in the series finale's trailer as the Princess of Wales. She stars alongside Ed McVey to portray the love life of Kate and William.
The season covers exciting aspects of the royal family history and promises to catch the audience's attention with "sensitive" topics. According to an executive producer of the show, Suzanne Mackie, the season will recreate the death of the late Princess Diana.
Mackie said this during an Edinburgh International Conference Centre panel session. She explained, per The Independent, "…there was a very, very careful, long, long, long conversation about how we do it – and I hope, you know, the audience will judge it in the end, but I think it's been delicately, thoughtfully recreated."
