"I don’t think Shannon is an alcoholic. As her close friend, I think she’s going through a lot of personal struggles right now and I think that she probably has been leaning on alcohol, but I don’t believe she’s an alcoholic."

Back in 2021, Shannon got involved in a messy battle with her ex-husband, David Beador, over their two daughters. The reality star requested that the judge allow her two 17-year-old daughters to continue filming on the show, as her eldest, who was 20 at that time, was no longer a minor. In emphasizing the value of the show to her finances, Beador said:

"The filming of the Show is my primary career and is part of and supportive of my primary income source, for which I use said income to care for my children. If my children do not film on the show, I will be in violation of my contract and will lose my job, and thus my ability to earn income."

RHOC executive producers have clearly stated that Shannon would be removed from the show if access to the inside of her home and all her children were restricted.

However, David filed an opposing suit, stating that while he had allowed the kids to participate in the filming in the past, things are now much different in their family. He continued that he has a new family now and is trying to keep things as private as possible, adding that:

"My current wife also has two other children of her own that do not need to have their mother exposed to possible disparaging comments made about our family on national television."

Per The Blast, David admitted that he found it “trouble that these proposed limitations are not acceptable” with Shannon and her counsel despite sharing joint legal custody of the kids. He added that it seemed Shannon had decided not to respect his wishes or those of his new wife and his daughter during the filming of the 16th season.
