NFL Fans Say New Video Proves DeAndre Hopkins Is A 'Bad Teammate'

NFL star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who was traded to the Tennessee Titans during the off-season, is getting hate on social media after a video went viral, showing him being a "bad teammate" to Kyle Phillips after Phillips muffed the punt and fumbled the ball, giving it back to the Baltimore Ravens on the one-yard line.

The video of the incident is now being shared by thousands on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, which, in turn, has both DeAndre Hopkins and Kyle Phillips trending.

During the early Sunday morning game in London, Tennessee Titans' player Kyle Phillips called a fair catch on the punt, but then fumbled the ball, giving the Baltimore Ravens a chance to score on the one-yard line.

Following the play, Phillips was visibly upset as he went to the sideline and sat on the bench with his head in his hands. Phillips sat down next to DeAndre Hopkins, but not for long because as soon as Hopkins saw Phillips come over and sit down next to him, he got up and walked away.

Fans caught the incident on tape, sharing it to social media, accusing the star wide receiver of being a "bad teammate".

It did not take long before NFL fans began blasting Hopkins on X. "Oh boy.. Kyle Phillips, who fumbled the punt before halftime, came over to sit down... then DeAndre Hopkins immediately got up away from him," one fan wrote as another expressed, "D-Hop got up and left when Kyle Phillips tried to sit next to him after muffing a punt. Cold world."

A third wrote, "Kyle Phillips went to sit down after fumbling a punt… then DeAndre Hopkins immediately got up and left ?".

As another user expressed, "This is absolutely awful leadership by #Titans Deandre Hopkins As a veteran you need to do better."

Although most fans blasted DeAndre Hopkins for getting up and walking away from Kyle Phillips, some took Hopkins's side, backing the star wide receiver.

"I saw somebody call Deandre Hopkins a bad teammate cause he got up off the bench after Kyle Phillips sat down. Not everybody is a kiss a--. Players got emotions. Here he is though blocking downfield to help Henry score. Not every star WR does that," one fan wrote alongside another video.

As of 1:00 p.m. ET, neither Kyle Phillips nor DeAndre Hopkins have commented on the incident. The Baltimore Ravens ended up winning the game 24-16. Hopkins did not have a good day as he only had 5 targets for 20 yards.

When speaking about being picked up by the Tennessee Titans following his time with the Arizona Cardinals, Deandre Hopkins said, "I’m very grateful for where I am, I think I made the best decision."

He added, "But when you’re a player and some people feel like they’re great without you, and then you see what they have on paper, or you see what they do, you mark those games down, as a competitor. I can't wait to play' em and, honestly, try my best to crush they a--.”
