Hugh Jackman Spends 55th Birthday With Estranged Wife Deborra-Lee Furness

Hugh Jackman celebrated his 55th birthday in a way that would undoubtedly warm the hearts of fans and friends alike.

In a heartwarming turn of events, the charismatic actor beloved for his roles on the big screen chose to spend this special day in the company of his estranged wife, Deborra-Lee Furness. 

This unexpected reunion comes about a month after the pair announced that they had chosen to part ways after an impressive 27 years of marriage. Recently, it was reported that Polo Bar, known for its usual intriguing mix of patrons, was privileged to a rare sighting of the former couple amongst the popular crowd.

According to reports, they were spotted joyfully commemorating the 55th birthday of "The Greatest Showman" star. It was reported that it was a "Very happy time [had] by all. Think it was a good birthday," while also confirming that they were joined by their kids, Oscar and Ava, as well as "a few close friends."

When asked about the outing, a representative for the "Wolverine" actor confirmed to the outlet, "Yes, it's true. It was a lovely evening." To celebrate, Jackman also uploaded a picture presumably taken from the Polo club on his Instagram page.

Although the Primetime Emmy Award winner did not include Furness in the post, he sported a wide smile, looking dapper in a white unbuttoned shirt. Holding on to a drink-filled glass, the celebrant excitedly wrote in the caption:

"Thank you ALL for the birthday love!!! I'm reading your messages, seeing the special videos and experiencing all the feels. ?."

Jackman's colleagues showered him with love in the comments, including a message from popular actor Michael B. Jordan, who wrote, "HAPPY BORN DAY!!!! May the universe keep blessing you!" His fellow co-star on "The Greatest Showman" Loren Allred also enthusiastically penned, "Happy Birthday, Hugh!!"

Fans of the "Les Misérables" star were not far behind in wishing him well. One admirer mentioned how pleased they were that he was "able to see the birthday greetings." They also pointed out, "And it looks like you had a fab day yourself. You deserve it all!! ?." Meanwhile, a fourth supporter noted, "All the best my dear Wolverine Hugh!" While a fifth gushed, "Hope you had a good one! ❤️."

In the wake of their separation, the Grammy Award winner reportedly embraced a deliberate approach to dating, placing emphasis on personal growth and introspection. An insider emphasized that Jackman was steering clear of any hasty romantic entanglements and has no intention of becoming a "playboy."

It was further revealed that "Hugh and Deborra have tremendous respect for each other and want to see each other do well in life, whether that is in their careers, love life, and everything else that hits their plate." 

The source also revealed that the "Rise of the Guardians" star was still currently in a phase dealing with the emotional aftermath of his separation. They shared, "He is in that lull period where he is still mourning the breakup, looking to dive into work to get his mind removed from it, flattered that a new love life could happen in the future, and also, he loves the fact that he could do absolutely nothing at all."

Last month, The Blast reported that the reason behind the former power couple's separation might have started during the COVID-19 pandemic. This strain was further exacerbated by the Hollywood writer's strike, adding pressure to an already delicate situation.

It appears that the duo had been growing apart long before their public announcement regarding the end of their marriage. It was also revealed that while they tried to make it work, Jackman and Furness chose the "best option," which was to end things.

A source shared, "They worked on it and couldn't get it back…..Hugh found it all to not have the same magic as they once had. Deb had similar concerns and thoughts and separating is the best option."

Despite this significant shift in their personal lives, they both continue to hold deep respect and admiration for one another. Fans will recall that they announced their split in a joint statement: "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage." 

Their current outlook towards each other could also be felt in the message, especially when they noted that their "journey now is shifting" and they had decided to focus on "individual growth."
