During the 2020 interview, Joe Rogan, asked Miley if Noah growing up in the shadow of "Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana" had affected her from going after a career in Hollywood.

“You either go one way or the other,” Miley replied, noting that her younger sibling “wants” a life in the spotlight.

“She’s got a record out that I love called ‘The End of Everything’ … and it’s the most depressing EP you’ll ever listen to,” Miley went on. “She’s 20 years old. She’s emo. She’s, like, an emo kid.”

Further on in the interview, Miley Cyrus talked about her younger sister's song and how it reflects Noah's idea of her older sister.

“She has a song where she says, ‘My sister’s like sunshine / It’ll follow her wherever she goes / But I’m more like a rain cloud.’ You know, it’s like, she’s really got this idea of me,” Miley added.

The UFC commentator then suggested that perhaps Noah should “go to the doctor,” to which Miley replied, “She is. We’re all at the doctor a lot.”

“She’s dealing with it. But she’s only 20, so I worry about her,” she concluded. Noah Cyrus has opened up about her addiction struggles, even calling that time in her life a "bottomless pit".

“It just kind of becomes this dark pit, bottomless pit,” she said in an interview earlier this year. “I felt so guilty for not being there when my grandma died. I was there physically, but emotionally, I was not there. I couldn’t be. That was my big eye-opener: I was sitting alone, and I was scared, and I realized that all the people that I love and all the people that I need, I was the one pushing them away.”

Earlier this year, Noah Cyrus spoke out about how hard it was to grow up in the spotlight, being the younger sister of Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana.

“I had a really hard time being a part of a public family, and I struggled a bit with that because it wasn’t exactly my first choice,” she said. “I had a hard time with people coming up to me and saying, ‘Are you Miley Cyrus’s little sister?’ or ‘Are you Hannah Montana’s little sister?’ I did not like that, and it stripped me of my own identity for a long time.”
