Prince Harry allegedly rejected King Charles' attempt to mend their relationship and is now being "punished" for it.

The Duke of Sussex has not been on good terms with the Royal family since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped back from their senior roles. According to royal expert Duncan Larcombe, Harry is still facing the consequences of his actions.

Larcombe revealed that Harry turned down King Charles' decision to extend an olive branch. The royal expert noted to The Sun that the Duke of Sussex "snapped it in half" and isn't ready to fix his relationship with his father or older brother Prince William.

The Prince Harry: The Inside Story author explained that the king showed his willingness to reconcile with his son when he blessed his marriage with Meghan. Larcombe said, "It's remarkable, really, because when Charles became King, he said he loved Harry and Meghan, which was a huge olive branch." He added that Harry "snapped [the branch] in half and then hit him with it."

Larcombe noted that the king was punishing his youngest son for revealing too much about the royal family in Spare. Harry wrote about undisclosed details about members of his family, including William and Camilla.

The royal expert said, "Harry has said some deeply hurtful things about [Queen] Camilla, and yet the King will still correspond with his son, albeit not directly." He also noted that despite Charles' intention to fix things with his son, he's still "punishing" Harry for his actions. The 39-year-old hasn't seen nor talked to his father in over a year.

However, Harry would need to go through strict processes to have access to the king. Larcombe claimed that their relationship was solely official and "business as usual." He explained, "Harry will have to get past the grey suits and jump through hoops to talk to his father. It's very standoffish but I think that's a way that the king is subtly punishing his son."

Harry's tell-all memoir affected his relationship with Charles and William. The Duke seemingly painted Camilla in the evil stepmother light and exposed his relationship with his brother.

In the book, he wrote that seeing his "wicked stepmother" for the first time felt like being impaled with needles. He recalled having to encourage himself to push through the meeting. Harry wrote of the encounter, "This is nothing. Close your eyes and you won't even feel it."

Harry also detailed his relationship with William, claiming that he was his "arch nemesis." The Prince recounted a time when they got into a physical fight, which ended with the 42-year-old throwing him to the ground.

Harry wrote, "It all happened so fast. … He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor." The Duke recounted being cut by some broken pieces and feeling hurt. He added, "I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."

Larcombe noted that the brothers' relationship was "irretrievably broken." He explained that William is regretful about how things are given how close they used to be.

"They had a very strong bond as brothers and always defended each other. But Harry has offered up a betrayal that no brother should put up with," the royal expert stated.

William was also upset at his brother for calling out his wife, Princess Kate Middleton. Larcombe said, "I can't see how William can get past that."

According to royal whisperer and expert Tom Bower, Meghan has plans to release a detail-packed memoir of her own. This will follow in the footsteps of her husband's Spare. Per the Daily Mail, Bower revealed on GBNews that the memoir would be a "money-spinner" and highly successful.

Fellow royal expert Angela Levin suggested that Meghan's upcoming book could be even more impactful than Harry's previous autobiography. Levin anticipates that Meghan's book will contain many complaints about "how badly she was treated as a royal."

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband are also working on their first major film project for Netflix after securing the rights to the romance novel, "Meet Me At The Lake" by Carley Fortune.
