What was supposed to be a fun and happy moment for Toni Braxton on her birthday has turned out to be a cause for concern for some of her fans! 

The ageless icon, now 56, decided to turn up the heat with a daring snap that was designed to set social media ablaze. As she confidently defies the sands of time, some fans could not help but raise an intrigued eyebrow at the sultry post.

Taking to Instagram, the "Un-Break My Heart" singer confidently donned a long, dark robe, artfully pulled down to reveal one graceful shoulder and a generous portion of her back. Casting a fierce glance over her shoulder, she artfully draped the material to unveil a glimpse of her left leg.

The snap captioned, "In my birthday suit…" saw her iconic short hair framing her face as she opted for minimal makeup, letting her radiant features speak for themselves. Completing the look, she adorned herself with elegant white pearl earrings.

While some followers and family showered the reality TV star with praise for the image, like this enthusiastic admirer who exclaimed, "@birdman I think it's time to take her phone. She's acting up on her birthday! ❤️???? Yassssss @tonibraxton," others held a different perspective.

"I don't know about this pic I'm sorry. I lov u sis but it's giving nursing home vibes. ????? I'm sorry s--t! Ms. Shirley sexy," this critic wrote. Despite the many opinions, it is safe to say that Braxton is just happy to be alive, seeing as she narrowly escaped a massive heart attack and dealt with the loss of her sister, Traci Braxton. 

Having battled systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) since 2008, the Billboard Music Awards winner opened up about her health journey in a chat with PEOPLE. The mother-of-two recalled that even though she knew the importance of regular tests, she skipped them last year. She stated:

"I kept putting it off thinking, 'Oh, I'm fine. I'll be okay.' But my doctor was persistent, and I finally went for testing in the last week of September." 

Luckily, she underwent a "specialized test" that examined her heart and revealed some irregularities. "The Heat" artist explained, "I found out that I needed a coronary stent. My left main coronary artery was 80% blocked. The doctors told me I could've had a massive heart attack; I would not have survived."

Looking back on what could have been a devastating double blow for the Braxton family, she shared, "It was a traumatic moment for me. I was in shock. I remember that day because my chest was aching often, just hurting. And I thought I was just sad because, unfortunately, my sister had just passed, and I thought, 'Wow, I'm really aching in my heart for my sister.'"

Last year, the "Pulse" singer celebrated her 55th birthday with another sultry snapshot, donning a bedazzled brown top perfectly paired with a matching thong. 

Proving that age is just a number, the "Blue's Clues" guest star struck a sexy pose in what seemed to be a bathroom bathed in golden hues, with a stack of products from her skincare line, Nude Sugar, resting beside her.

The birthday celebrant, whose dazzling outfit was adorned with bedazzled letter Bs, elegantly showcased her ample bottom by facing her cheeky behind towards the camera. She confidently sported her low-cut hairstyle, raising her hands to the sky.

Jubilantly declaring in the accompanying caption, "Happy Birthday to me and @nude.sugar! My body care line is 1 yr old!!" the "More Than a Woman" singer also took a moment to express gratitude towards her devoted glam squad. 

Fans flooded the post with heartfelt birthday wishes, with one devotee, who could not contain their admiration, exclaiming, "Happy birthday to my dream girl. You can do no wrong!!"
