The iconic actress expressed gratitude for choosing motherhood over Hollywood and emphasized her joy in adopting her sons.

She reflected on the challenging aftermath of her health battle and revealed her need for uninterrupted sleep to prevent seizures, impacting her career.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Sharon Stone opened up about her close brush with death in 2001 when she faced a one percent chance of survival due to a ruptured vertebral artery that bled into her brain for nine days.

The "Basic Instinct" star reflected on her life and emphasized her gratitude for choosing motherhood over Hollywood, stating, "I'm grateful that I chose motherhood as a healthy approach to my life and that I didn't prioritize Hollywood, because they certainly didn't prioritize me."

Stone added that she was "grateful" for adopting her sons, Roan, 23; Laird, 18; and Quinn, 17. She described them as wonderful kids, and concluded that she appreciates the choices she made in life.

Stone reflected on her life, which was flourishing both professionally and personally at the time. Five years before the life-threatening health incident, she had earned her first Oscar nomination for "Casino" and had recently adopted her son Roan with then-husband Phil Bronstein.

While recalling her recovery process, the 65-year-old shared that she experienced memory loss and struggled with speech and vision issues. She also revealed that her health woes led to a dark period in her life.

"I lost everything," she said, per People. "I lost all my money. I lost custody of my child. I lost my career. I lost all those things that you feel are your real identity and your life." Her marriage also ended in divorce in 2004.

She acknowledged that she never recouped her losses, adding, "I never really got most of it back, but I've reached a point where I'm okay with it, where I really do recognize that I'm enough."

Despite the challenging times, the "Total Recall" actress revealed that she had one person by her side, her father.

She Needs 'Eight Hours Of Uninterrupted Sleep' So She Doesn't Have 'Seizures'

Stone also revealed to the outlet the essential steps she takes to prevent seizures after her health crisis to prevent stroke.

She talked about the importance of getting "eight hours" of sleep to help prevent her from having seizures. Stone said, "I need eight hours of uninterrupted sleep for my brain medication to work so that I don't have seizures."

Stoke also acknowledged the impact on her career, adding, "So I'm a disability hire, and because of that I don't get hired a lot. These are the things that I've been dealing with for the past 22 years, and I am open about that now."

When asked about her decision to share her story, Stone recalled her upbringing in a "broken family." She explained, "I grew up believing that taking care of everybody else was what I was supposed to do. It took me a long time to understand that I had a life of my own and that I didn't have to fix it for everybody else, and that it was okay for me to receive care, for me to be enough as a disabled person. I feel proud of myself and proud of my accomplishments — from surviving to helping others survive."

In a recent Instagram post, Stone showed off her legs in a photoshoot for her Puss Puss Magazine cover.

In the black and white photo captured by Branislav Simoncik, the "Catwoman" actress donned a denim shirt, black underwear, fishnet tights, and heels. She struck a pose with her hands in her hair, highlighting her incredibly toned legs.

Stone expressed gratitude to the creative team in her caption, writing, "Thank you to @pusspussmag and my amazing team."
