According to a new report, Elon Musk discreetly sued his former girlfriend Grimes, real name Claire Boucher, for the parental rights of their three kids before the Canadian singer filed her own petition.

In court documents, Musk noted that he intends to establish a written agreement with Grimes about conservatorship, possession, and access to their children, per Page Six. However, if they can't reach a middle ground, the X owner wants the court to take the proper legal measures.

Musk also stated in his legal filing that the purpose of the suit is to establish the "parent-child relationship" between him and the three kids he shares with Grimes.

Apart from seeking parental rights for the children, Musk also accused Grimes of trying to violate the law in Texas. The billionaire explained that he takes care of the children full-time and has resided with them in Texas for at least "six consecutive months."

His filing read that the singer was "attempting to circumvent the jurisdiction" of the court by lying about her residence. Musk claims he and Grimes lived together with their kids in Texas between May and July.

It should be noted, this is important considering the Texas laws allow for less child support to be paid to Grimes. California is notoriously better in the family law court for scoring huge sums of child support. Obviously, Musk is one of the richest people in the world, and CA considers a parent's monthly income for its order of support amounts. Translation: He will owe a ton.

The singer previously spoke about their living conditions during a Vanity Fair interview about her and Musk's relationship.

The 35-year-old said of Musk, "I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we're very fluid." Grimes added, "We live in separate houses. We're best friends. We see each other all the time... We just have our own thing going on, and I don't expect other people to understand."

She compared her relationship with Musk to a "really good internship" earlier this year. However, Grimes revealed later that they were broken up again.

In his court filing, the 52-year-old noted that he had been responsible for his and Grimes' children since they were born. He claims to have handled their financial upkeep and has "actual care, control, and possession of each child since the birth of each child."

Amid their feud, the former couple has made their love for their children known on social media. Musk once tweeted that having kids was "saving the world." Grimes also showed support for their children by responding to a jab at her son X's name. She explained that it was a cool name and it only mattered that their son liked it.

On September 29, Grimes filed a petition for parental rights of Techno, X, and Exa. Prior to this, she had been allegedly served papers by Musk on September 13.

Court documents obtained by Insider showed that Grimes requested a "standard restraining order" against Musk to ensure that the kids cannot be taken out of California. She also asked for physical custody of the children.

Her lawsuit comes after she cried out in public to be allowed to see her youngest child. In a now-deleted tweet, Grimes asked her former boyfriend to stop keeping Techno from her. She then tagged Shivon Zilis, who Musk shares twins with, and asked the author to "unblock" her.

Grimes wrote, "Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer." She added that the billionaire turned a deaf ear to her requests to see their kids. "I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until this moment, despite the situation utterly ripping my family apart," Grimes noted.
