Al Pacino is agreeing to keep the custody battle over his newborn son private, and out of the public courts.

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, the 'Casino' star signed off on a stipulation allowing the case to be heard by a private judge. In other words, the case will stay out of the public court system, keeping details of the fight over custody and child support private.

Legally, the filing is called a "stipulation and order for the appointment of a private judge."

This isn't the first time an A-list celebrity used the private judge system to keep their custody battle private. Famously, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie used the same system to attempt to keep the information from the media. As you know, the problem is they couldn't agree on anything, the case ended right back in the courthouse.

The newest filing doesn't mean this case will be without its fireworks. We broke the story, Al Pacino's girlfriend -- Noor Alfallah-- filed for physical custody of their son, Roman, making it appear a fight was inevitable. The legal filing asked that Pacino be given "reasonable visitation" for the newborn baby.

In the filing, Noor asked for Pacino to only be given joint "legal custody" of the child, which would allow him to participate in major decisions concerning their baby like medical treatment, education, and religion.

Of course, the amount of child support is the next negotiation to take place, but per California law, the income of each parent must be established to figure out a number. Plus, the amount of custody one parent has can contribute to lowering or raising that amount.

It should be noted, that six days after the child's birth a "voluntary declaration of parentage" was signed by both parents. So, there is no doubt who the father is in this case.

The only issue with using a private judge is it's expensive! But, let's be honest, Pacino's got plenty of money and it might be worth keeping the details private.

Interestingly, the custody battle makes it appear that the former couple is at odds and is certainly broken up. Shockingly, a representative for Alfallah issued a statement claiming the couple is still together.

"Al and Noor have successfully worked together and have mutually reached agreements regarding their child Roman. They are still together," it read.

A source confirmed the duo was spotted Pacino at dinner inside the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles with another couple a day before the filing, with a witness telling People, that they "arrived together and dined together."

Last month, Noor shared the first baby photos of their son on Instagram. "My whole heart and the greatest blessing in my life. Roman," she captioned the picture holding her baby's hand.

The custody case is ongoing.
