Susie Evans and Clayton Echard Call It Quits
The pair announced their split weeks after the "Bachelor" finale aired in an Instagram post, which was shared on both Evans’ and Echard’s Instagram accounts.
"With incredibly heavy hearts, we wanted to share that we have decided to go our separate ways. For anyone who has ever loved, knows this was a painful decision to make and not one taken lightly," the two wrote on social media. "We understand that there will likely be a lot of questions about this decision — social media is definitely a highlight reel and much of our experiences together we have kept private as I’m sure most can understand."
They added, "But we will share this — although this last year together has brought us so much joy and so many laughs, there has also been a significant amount of pain. We know no healthy relationship comes without its struggles, but we’ve realized that we were not prepared for the external forces that hindered our ability to not only heal as individuals but also as a couple. We both are focused on continuing to work on ourselves, so we can be the best version of ourselves."
The Current State Of Susie Evans and Clayton Echard's Relationship
Susie Evans recently held a Q&A session on her Instagram Stories, where fans asked some juicy questions -- one of which mentioned her ex, Clayton Echard, and asking if the two were still friends.
"We occasionally catch up from time to time," Evans admitted. "We make sure the other is doing okay!"
The "Bachelor" alum went on to explain, "I feel like I would say we are friends and so would he, but we aren't close buddies. I don't feel like it's the most appropriate thing to be close with an ex after a certain point."
Evans then added, "We left the relationship with so much love and respect for each other and think we are both grateful for that."
Clayton Echard Comments On His Season Of 'The Bachelor'
The Blast previously reported that in an interview with The Virginian-Pilot, Clayton Echard opened up about his controversial season of the ABC reality show, claiming that he was portrayed poorly on “The Bachelor” season 26.
‘Watching [my season] back, I was embarrassed and disgusted by my actions and the way I was portrayed or seen on TV," he said before adding, “Ultimately, I had to live with the fact that my narrative is what was shown. And that was hard because that’s not really who I am.” “I do not feel that what I was on the show is who I truly am, but I did those things. I became that person.”
The reality TV star then called his season a “trainwreck” and said he was shocked to see that “drama was prioritized over the love story.”
