Susie Evans knows a thing or two about taking risks!
The 29-year-old videographer was introduced to Bachelor Nation as a contestant on Clayton Echard’s season of “The Bachelor,” which aired in early 2022. Evans would go on to be a final three contender, but would ultimately leave the series through self-elimination due to Echard’s revelation he had been intimate with his other leading ladies, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia.
Evans and Echard had a rollercoaster ride of an experience within Bachelor Nation following the conclusion of the season; The duo’s relationship status had been in limbo on-screen until it was revealed on “After The Final Rose” they had decided to take their relationship slowly by bypassing an engagement and opting to date instead.
The Blast has covered many aspects of Echard and Evans’ relationship throughout their whirlwind year, and now Evans is taking the time to reflect on how she felt during one of the most pivotal and life-changing years of her life.
Evans and Echard may have gone through an incredibly public break-up in 2022 and she has shared her heart countless times in the press, however, the ‘bachelorette’ babe is sharing a different type of instance where she put her heart on the line in her latest blog post.

Bachelor Nation fans are well aware that Evans took a giant leap in her personal life in 2022.
Before she and Echard parted ways, The Blast covered the pair’s decision to pursue a long-distance relationship in order to pursue their respective career dreams.
The couple first began planting the seeds for their life together in Evans’ hometown of Virginia Beach before deciding to move to Los Angeles, California, and Scottsdale, Arizona. Evans decided to move to the former city to expand her career as a wedding videographer, which we’ll explore more of later!
Evans and Echard decided to end their relationship a little over a month after announcing their relocation plans.
“We know no healthy relationship comes without its struggles, but we’ve realized that we were not prepared for the external forces that hindered our ability to not only heal as individuals but also as a couple,” part of the former couple’s Instagram statement read. “We both are focused on continuing to work on ourselves, so we can be the best versions of ourselves.”

Following her breakup with Echard, Evans detailed her plans to expand her career and passion for wedding videography in 2023, in a new blog post on her website, Susiewaslike. Evans’ career as a wedding videographer actually predates her time in Bachelor Nation, and her professional experiences have taken her on a similar whirlwind journey.
Evans vulnerably discussed the giant professional risk she took with her business before embarking into public life. Like many business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, Evans’ business was affected by the beginning of the pandemic two years ago.
“I left corporate [life] originally in 2020,” Evans wrote in her blog post, “and my business failed because not a single wedding took place that year. So 2021 was my first year running my business with actual weddings. When I left to go on the show,” she continued, “I had just enough money in my checking account to pay for all of my bills in the case that I stayed the entirety of the filming process.”
Evans went on to reveal how she felt about the nerve-wracking risk.
“Leaving for two months to film an unpaid TV show was certainly frightening as a first year business owner but I am never one to turn down an adventure,” Evans detailed of her costly risk.
“I can’t begin to tell you guys how exciting it is to have this newfound inspiration and belief in myself to pursue video and photography in a way I never saw for myself before,” she also wrote. “So much so that I decided that come January 2023, I am going to move to LA and try to make it something bigger than it already is. I decided I would make the move a few months ago but after my breakup with Clayton, I felt it would be best for me personally to stay with family through the holidays in Virginia and give myself a fresh start in January 2023 in a new city with new goals,” Evans revealed.
Clayton Echard and Susie Evans are clearly thriving in their respective career moves! Echard is now a mental health coach.
Here’s to new beginnings!
