Fitness Trainer Senada Greca Shares Her Pre-Workout ‘Proats’ Recipe

Celebrity fitness trainer Senada Greca is sharing her healthy pre-workout recipe for proats!
For those who might not know, proats are a combination of protein and oats, which is ideal to consume before (or even after!) a heavy workout. Although many individuals choose to work out in the morning, making proats an ideal breakfast, they can be consumed any time of the day, usually about ninety minutes before a strength training workout!

In one of her latest Instagram posts, the celebrity fitness trainer, who has worked with "The Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian since January, shared her latest recipe for pre-workout proats. "Energizing, Antioxidant, Anti-Aging, Pre-Workout Proats" is what she named the delicious recipe, which she showed off in a white ceramic bowl.
"Did you know that Dark Chocolate is higher in antioxidants than blueberries, which makes it a great anti-aging superfood?" she asked in the caption. "It also is a great natural stimulant so you might even be able to skip your coffee or pre-workout. Research shows to aim for a consumption of 50-70g a day of dark chocolate, and the darker the better. Here I’m using 100% cacao. No added sugar." Although it might be bitter to some, it is an acquired taste!
"This is my latest discovery that gives me that kick to focus, to get and stay energized during my workouts without drinking a pre-workout (I’m not a fan of most pre-workouts out there. Most are not good for you)," she added, revealing that she eats this and only waits thirty minutes, not ninety, before beginning her workout.
To make this recipe, she uses 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1/4 cup walnuts, 1 serving of protein powder (she used a peanut butter flavor), and an unspecified amount of hot water. She revealed that she mixed it all together and allowed the water to absorb the oats, but not fully, so it was still a bit runny. She then topped it with 50 grams of dark chocolate.

Fans were quick to gush over her latest recipe, although one of her followers had a very good question! “Anyone else have trouble in the 💩 department when using protein powder???” one user asked. “I have to eat real foods like hard-boiled eggs. I do Greek or Icelandic yogurt but I try to keep my dairy intake low as it’s extremely inflammatory in the body.”
“I’ve been training for 30 years; I’ve tried them all. My body doesn’t do well with processed foods. Especially protein powders,” one fan admitted. “It’s definitely not just you! I can’t tolerate supplemental protein products very well either. Whole foods are better for you anyway but I know it can be hard to get enough protein that way. If you ever find one that doesn’t wreck your tummy let me know!” another follower shared.
“I had the same till I stopped whey and started plant-based protein or egg protein powder.....found it in Norway,” a third fan revealed. “Yes, Whey is brutal. I find the plant-based powder does the same. I’m just using hard-boiled eggs and egg whites. I have to stick to real foods. I’m inching my way towards 50 years old. Holy cow does your body say ‘absolutely not!’ to certain things when you ‘mature in age.’ Time flies when you’re alive,” another follower chimed in.
Other followers couldn’t wait to try her recipe. “Looks yummy,” one fan commented. “I need it right now,” another follower wrote. “Omg, that’s literally what I have been making. Sometimes I also add frozen cherries to it. It’s soooo good,” a third fan chimed in. “Love your recipes!” another follower shared. “Definitely going to try this,” another fan chimed in while her followers praised another delicious recipe!
