Simone Biles Helps USA Dominate The Gymnastics World For The Seventh Time Running

The 26-year-old's return to the sport after a two-year hiatus has been spectacular. Clinching her 20th world championships gold medal with her stellar floor routine at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium, her extended stay away was nowhere in sight.

In an impressive feat, she achieved scores of 14.800 in the vault, 14.466 on the bars, and 14.300 on the beam in the initial three apparatus. As the anchor for the U.S. team in the floor routine, the 2015 Team USA Female Olympic Athlete of the Year knew that only a superb performance could secure another gold for them.

For her routine, she reportedly radiated confidence, with flawless twists and turns, earning her a remarkable score of 15.166, all while sporting a radiant smile.

This left Leanne Wong to step up admirably, filling in for her injured teammate in two apparatus, the vault and floor routines, that she had not been initially slated to compete in. Meanwhile, Brazil secured the second position, marking their inaugural world championship medal in women's gymnastics, while France claimed the third spot.

Biles, who now boasts an impressive tally of 26 world championship medals – 20 gold, three silver, and three bronze, made headlines last month by securing her "record-setting eighth all-around title," a remarkable achievement a decade after her initial domination of the sport as a teenage sensation.

As the gymnastics legend gears up for the upcoming Paris Olympics, she secured an impressive all-around total of 118.40, maintaining a four-point lead over the runner-up, Shilese Jones. Biles reportedly left the audience spellbound at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, with her dazzling floor routine featuring a flawless landing.

Her last performance of the competition had ecstatic fans on their feet as she notched an impressive score of 15,400 points, surpassing the record for the most all-around titles held by Alfred Jochim for both men and women.

Claiming a new record, this would be her second victory since her comeback since her notable exit linked to the gymnastics phenomenon known as "twisties," where athletes lose their spatial awareness while in mid-air.

"I think I have to take care of myself a little bit more and listen to my body and making sure that I'm making time for the important things in my life, rather than before, it was just 'go, go, go,' and then making time after."

Reflecting on her approach to her gymnastics career and personal life, the 2016 BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year stated, "This time around, it's being intentional, going to therapy, making sure everything is aligned so that I can do the best in the gym and be a good wife, good daughter, good friend, and all of the good things."

Regarding her competition strategy, Biles highlighted her trust in herself, her teammates, and her coach. She also emphasized the importance of rigorous practice and building confidence by consistently achieving her training goals in the gym.
