The Chateau Marmont incident isn't the first time Cher has taken emergency action to get her son professional help. According to Elijah's estranged wife, King, Cher sent four men to kidnap him from their shared New York hotel room during their anniversary week in November 2022.

King, whom Elijah met in Germany, discussed the kidnapping in a court declaration for their divorce proceedings. When Cher intervened, she claimed they were trying to reconcile their differences and save their marriage. However, King noted that she knows it was done out of worry for Elijah's health and drug abuse problems. In other words, it was another intervention, not an actual kidnapping.

She said, "On November 30, 2022, the night of our wedding anniversary, four people came to our hotel room and removed (Elijah) from our room. I was told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by his mother."

In the declaration, King claimed to be unaware of Elijah's "wellbeing or whereabouts" but knows he's currently in "lockdown at a treatment facility."

Elijah is Cher's son from her marriage to the late musician Gregg Allman. The pair have had a troubled relationship for many years, and she's reportedly gone months and years without speaking to him.

A close pal of the music legend recently opened up about the claim by the singer's daughter-in-law that she kidnapped Elijah.

The friend told Page Six that Cher was trying to save her son's life, so she hired four men to abduct him and only had the "greatest and best intentions possible."

They further stated that the "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" actress was fighting to save Elijah from his substance abuse problems: "Cher is an amazing mother; in all the years I've known her, I've only seen her be the best, most amazing, giving mother."

In King's filings, she also accused Elijah of failing to pay spousal support properly, which forced her to rely on relatives for finances and accommodation.

She wrote, "I have only received $25,000 total, half of the support owed. I had lost both my housing and healthcare and had to leave the country to stay with relatives for a while."

King told the court that after Elijah started another stay at a rehab facility, Cher asked her to leave their home. Her declaration read, "I was not allowed to retrieve all my belongings from our primary home and residence, nor was I given the opportunity to inventory our assets."

King also claimed to the court that Cher restricted her from accessing a joint storage unit of their assets. The unit reportedly contains multiple "art, antiques, all our furniture from our second home that we had together in Beverly Hills and other assets accumulated during the marriage."

Cher, who recently reconciled with her boyfriend, Alexander 'A.E' Edwards, has yet to comment on the allegations made by King.
