Actress Salma Hayek, who is a board member of the Kering Foundation, helped to raise over $3 million dollars to help end violence against women and children.

Salma’s husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, is the CEO of Kering, although The Kering Foundation is comprised of thirteen different directors to manage both the business and nonprofit affairs of the organization.

Salma Hayek Raises MILLIONS To Help End Violence Against Women and Children

On Sunday afternoon, the “House of Gucci” actress shared a video that featured some clips from the second annual Charity For Dinner held earlier this month. “We still have a lot, a lot, of fighting to do,” Salma says in one of the clips. “But that at the same time, you don’t feel alone during the fight and you feel the energy and the togetherness, which is one of the themes of tonight. So it’s a very special night.”

The video also includes short statements from François-Henri Pinault, 61, actress and philanthropist Oprah Winfrey, Nobel Laureate and girls’ education activist, Malala Yousafzai, director and actress Olivia Wilde, and host and producer Lisa Ling.

In the caption of this Instagram post, Salma wrote, “Last week The Kering Foundation celebrated 15 years with its second annual Caring for Women dinner in efforts to combat violence against women and children.”

“In addition to the annual commitments of the Kering Foundation, we raised over $3 million to benefit: the Malala Fund, National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), and New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault,” she continued. “Let’s be the scissors that cut the cycle of violence against women and reshape the world.”

Fans were quick to praise the actress for her work. “All the work done is so important and appreciated and absolutely beautiful. We (the women) feel supported so much more since we’ve seen through all the work done by them,” one fan commented. “Thank you for your consistency and endless fight through this foundation. Keep fighting and inspiring people,” another follower shared.

Salma Shared More Star-Studded Events From The Night

On September 12, one night after the event, the “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” actress took to Instagram to share a few photos of the event. The photos include her posing with some of her famous friends, including Oprah, Malala, Zoe Kravitz, Channing Tatum, Christiana Musk, Nicole Kidman, Linda Evangelista, Kim Kardashian, Isabelle Huppert, Gayle King, and Olivia Wilde.

In the caption of this Instagram post, Salma wrote, “What a night! Thank you to everybody who came out to celebrate 15 years of the @keringfoundation and the second annual 'Caring for Women' dinner to benefit the Malala Fund, National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), and New York City Alliance Against Sexual Violence. I am so honored to work alongside this brilliant foundation to combat gender-based violence and continue the fight to protect vulnerable women and children all across the globe.”

She also repeated her message in Spanish, writing, “¡Qué noche! Gracias a todos los que asistieron a celebrar los 15 años de @keringfoundation y la segunda cena anual 'Caring for Women' en beneficio del Malala Fund, National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) and New York City Alliance Against Sexual Violence. Es un gran honor para mí trabajar junto a esta brillante fundación para combatir la violencia de género y continuar la lucha para proteger a las mujeres y los niños vulnerables en todo el mundo.”

Olivie Wilde was one of the first to comment on the post, writing, “Our fearless leader I love you” along with a red heart emoji. One fan replied, “I love your heart and how supportive you are with your voice and your actions.”

Malala also commented on the post, writing, “Thank you so much for having us and inviting me to co-host. I will remember the feeling of being in that room surrounded by powerful women. Muchas gracías por todos.” Glamour magazine also commented on the post, writing, “The power of this photo!”

“I hardly ever like these types of posts. But this is such an important significance, especially for women... Well done,” another follower shared. “Wow, everyone looks so beautiful and elegant. What a wonderful event. Love it!!” another fan chimed in.
