Tory Lanez's high-profile celebrity status has earned him a solo and lonely stay in state prison. The Canadian rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is currently being held at the North Kern State Prison in California. According to TMZ, Lanez is in Administrative Segregation because of his celebrity status, so he gets minimal social interactions.

A source revealed that Lanez is alone in his cell and receives frequent checks from the guards. He's escorted everywhere, to the showers and the yard, where he's also kept away from other prisoners in a fenced-off area. However, this is reportedly standard policy and treatment for all prisoners in Ad-Seg.

Lanez is currently appealing his shooting conviction and 10-year sentence. He requested Judge Herriford to release him on bail while his team worked on the appeal so he could live with his wife and young son.

However, Judge Herriford denied Lanez's motion in a recent hearing, citing his history of violent felony convictions. The judge also noted that the "In For It" rapper has a history of violating court orders.

Just before his sentence was announced, Lanez took to Instagram to apologize for his violent actions. However, he recanted the apology and said he only takes responsibility for his "verbal and intimate moments" with the affected parties.
