Police in suburban Chicago are checking on the authenticity of Instagram videos that appear to show the former NFL player discussing the recent death of his mother, who died following an assault.

Per ESPN, "Maywood police spokesperson Carmen Rivera said in an email Tuesday, acknowledging police were aware of the videos and were investigating. Rivera did not immediately return messages Wednesday seeking an update."

The first video posted to his apparent burner Instagram account intplayerwithapassport, Brown said “Fake news, fake news. It has to be the FBI that came into my house on Bob Marley’s death day. With the 511 haze and gas — unwarranted. They kidnapped me twice from my home. The Maywood, Ill. Police Department… it had to be the FBI or the Maywood Police.”

In the second video, he referenced the 2003 children’s film “Finding Nemo” while also referencing a missing persons report, seemingly filed by family members on Saturday.

“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming,” he said on repeat. “What the f–k? Missing? They ain’t never seen ‘Finding Nemo’? What the f–k is going on? This is traumatic. Lucky I don’t have to say a joke. You … what the f–k? Just keep swimming,” he continued before laughing uncontrollably.

And in a third video, the ex-NFL star referenced death when singing the lyrics to Drake’s song “Legend”.

“Oh my god, oh my god, if I die, I’m a legend,” he sings in the video posted to his burner Instagram account intplayerwithapassport.
