In the filing, a company is looking to collect from the estate of Lisa Marie Presley, even though she tragically passed away. The company claims A Deed of Trust was signed and notarized by someone connected to LMP, but was not filed due to an agreement of the loan being paid in full with a due date of May 16, 2022.

Several letters were reportedly sent to Lisa Marie Presley, which were refused and returned, according to the legal documents. This is what caused them to take legal action and file the creditor's claim against the estate. According to the documents, the loan was first secured on August 10, 2015.

The Lender says that they will agree to a settlement arrangement to not proceed with legal action if the trustee of LMP's estate agrees to pay in full 75% of the amount of $3,800,000.00 borrowed, decrease the amount to be paid to $2,850,000.00, and can be paid in 45 days.

It is very common practice for companies or individuals owed money from celebrities to file "creditor claims" to collect after their death.

Priscilla Presley recalled the final days that she shared with her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, before her sudden death in January. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published in August 2023, the ex-wife of Elvis Presley admitted that she knew “there was something not right” about her daughter’s health.

The two were last seen out together at a Golden Globe Awards afterparty, where Austin Butler won an award for his role in “Elvis.” She said that Lisa Marie tripped on the stairs of the Chateau Marmont and “started laughing so hard.” Priscilla called it a “fun memory” but noted that Lisa Marie complained of stomach pain shortly after they ordered the event.

According to the autopsy report, “The cause of death of this 54-year-old female identified as Lisa Marie Beaulieu Presley is sequelae of small bowel obstruction. The obstruction was in the form of a strangulated small bowel caused by adhesions that developed after bariatric surgery years ago. This is a known long-term complication of this type of surgery.”

The autopsy report also noted that she had  “therapeutic levels of oxycodone in the blood” which were likely administered in the hospital.  The report also stated, “Quetiapine metabolite along with buprenorphine with associated metabolites are also present and are not contributory to death.”

“I still can’t believe it. I don’t wish this on any mother,” Presley told THR, noting that she is still on good terms with her granddaughter Riley Keough. Although the two were involved in a legal battle over Lisa Marie’s estate, the two reached a settlement in May.

“Riley and I are on good terms,” she said. “We were never not on good terms. That was all publicity.”

Close friends were reportedly surprised by Lisa Marie’s cause of death. Sources told Page Six that Lisa Marie had never been dangerously overweight and questioned when the surgery had been done.

“When did you ever see Lisa look as if she needed bariatric surgery?” a close friend asked the outlet. “She was not big at all. I don’t know what kind of doctor would perform this surgery on her.”

Friends knew that she would undergo minor cosmetic procedures throughout the years, such as Botox and other injectables. However, they say that they had no idea that she had bariatric surgery.
