Is 52 Year Old Superstar Mark Wahlberg Ready To Quit Acting?

After many years of showing his versatility as a leading man in comedy, drama, and action films and winning numerous awards, Mark Wahlberg is anticipating a career change. The Boston-born star disclosed that he does not see himself acting as much as he does nowadays in the future.

Mark Wahlberg Has Considered Giving Up Acting To Focus On His Family & Their Own Interests
Even though he has kept many of his thoughts and plans from the public, Wahlberg opted to give a peak into his life recently. The seasoned actor, producer, and entrepreneur had a conversation with Cigar Aficionado for their September/October issue, during which he candidly discussed his past, present, and future business ventures.
In fact, the 52-year-old superstar is contemplating how much more time he can spend in front of the camera. As he told interviewer Marvin R. Shanken:
"Well, I'm certainly working harder now than ever. Certain businesses, you kind of build them, pass them on or you exit. Hopefully my kids, we'll see what their interests are, but I don't think that I'll be acting that much longer at the pace I am now. That's for sure. Because that's the most difficult thing."
While he did not pinpoint exactly what he would be doing in the future, the BAFTA Award winner did reveal that his initial foray into producing had been a deliberate step to enhance his acting efforts. In his words:
"I started becoming a producer out of necessity. I didn't want to sit around waiting for Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise or whoever was already established before me and were the guys at the time, and Leo [DiCaprio], to go and pass on a movie until I could get my hands on it."
Continuing in that light, the father of four, who was known as Marky Mark during his singing days, added, "I was always proactive in trying to find material and things that I could produce. That I knew was right for me, [to] create my own destiny."
On that note, Wahlberg acknowledged that he might further expand his horizons by taking a seat in the director's chair, collaborating with remarkable talents, including the upcoming generation. At the same time, the nine-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee is laser-focused on expanding his business empire, which encompasses the tequila brand Flecha Azul.

In May, the "Transformers: Age of Extinction" star offered an update on his family, months after they moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Per The Blast, he divulged that the real reason for the decision was his recognizing the need to prioritize his children's interests above his.
"I spent lots of time in L.A. pursuing my interests and my career, and now it's time for them to pursue theirs. Everybody is thriving there. It's been great," the " hitmaker began. He then stated:
"I want to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams — whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense for us."
He further explained that he, his wife — Rhea Durham, and their kids — Grace, Ella, Brendan, and Michael, "came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start," adding, "There's lot of opportunity here. I'm really excited about the future."
Besides being a place for his kids to discover and grow their interests, Las Vegas has also been a great source of entertainment to Wahlberg and his family. Sharing his excitement, he gushed:
"I saw Adele, I saw Bruno Mars [as part of Silk Sonic]. I've seen several shows and been to many great restaurants. There's so much to do in Vegas, and it's so exciting."
Additionally, the Closest to the Hole founder had plans for his new hometown as he previously shared his plans to help turn Las Vegas into "Hollywood 2.0." To achieve that, Wahlberg intends to build a state-of-the-art studio and encourage legislation for tax credits.
As he disclosed in October 2022, he wanted to be "able to work from home" and spend more time with his family.
