Tyra Banks has been replaced as co-host on “Dancing With the Stars” by professional dancer Julianne Hough.

Alfonso Ribeiro will return as co-host alongside the “Dancing With the Stars” alum, while her brother, Derek Hough, will return to the judges table alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.

The "Fresh Princes of Bel-Air" star is now speaking out about the hosting change, and how Banks truly felt about the decision.

"Dancing with the Stars" host Alfonso Ribeiro has spoken out about Tyra Banks' reaction to being replaced by Alfonso for Season 32 of the ABC competiton series.

"She was very happy for me, and she decided to leave," Alfonso, 51, told Us Weekly. “So, she was very happy that I was the person that, kind of, was moved up into her slot.”

She even noted that he was “made for this” role.

Former professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy also spoke to The Blast exclusively, mentioning something similar in regard to Ribeiro taking over. Chmerkovskiy said he “felt like I needed to move on” from the show because it was “going through some changes and some transformations”.

“Today, the show is kind of like full circle, and back to the format that I’m more fond of,” he told The Blast. “The components like Alfonso [Ribeiro] taking over of what Tom Bergeron used to be. It was a huge moment in the show’s progression.”

Julianne Hough spoke to Variety regarding her return to the ballroom, which she is extremely excited about.

“It is such an honor to rejoin ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as co-host. The show holds such a special place in my heart from the many years and different roles I have had the privilege of being a part of,” Hough said. “The incredible team that brings the ballroom to life every night has been my family for the past 17 years. I am so excited to reunite with Alfonso, Carrie Ann, Bruno, Derek, the unbelievably talented pros, and the amazing cast on the dance floor.”

The “Grease” actress and singer first appeared on “Dancing With the Stars” as a pro dancer in 2007. The 34-year-old took home the Mirror Ball trophy twice — once in season four with her partner Apolo Anton Ohno and in season five alongside Hélio Castroneves.

Hough has experience aside from being a professional dancer on the show as she was a judge from 2014-2017. She also returned as a guest judge on the show in 2021. She also has experience hosting television shows. For the past few years, she and her brother Derek Hough have hosted the “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration” special.

“Dancing With the Stars” will air on ABC and Disney+ later this year, with episodes streaming on Hulu the following day.
