Alfonso Ribeiro will return as co-host alongside the “Dancing With the Stars” alum, while her brother, Derek Hough, will return to the judges table alongside Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
The "Fresh Princes of Bel-Air" star is now speaking out about the hosting change, and how Banks truly felt about the decision.
Tyra Banks' True Feelings Revealed By Alfonso Ribeiro
"Dancing with the Stars" host Alfonso Ribeiro has spoken out about Tyra Banks' reaction to being replaced by Alfonso for Season 32 of the ABC competiton series.
"She was very happy for me, and she decided to leave," Alfonso, 51, told Us Weekly. “So, she was very happy that I was the person that, kind of, was moved up into her slot.”
She even noted that he was “made for this” role.
Former professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy also spoke to The Blast exclusively, mentioning something similar in regard to Ribeiro taking over. Chmerkovskiy said he “felt like I needed to move on” from the show because it was “going through some changes and some transformations”.
“Today, the show is kind of like full circle, and back to the format that I’m more fond of,” he told The Blast. “The components like Alfonso [Ribeiro] taking over of what Tom Bergeron used to be. It was a huge moment in the show’s progression.”
