Britney Spears Gets Candid About Bullying: 'There's So Much I've Kept Private'

Pop star Britney Spears is sharing one of her favorite videos on Instagram again.

The video features a young girl getting upset after being splashed with eggs that are cracked in a bowl. The video has been posted to Britney's account several times in the past, and on Monday night, she finally opened up on why the video means so much to her, as she sees something "darker" in what was meant to be a lighthearted video.

On Monday night, the “Toxic” singer shared another look at the video, which she credited to @girlrewind. The text over the video reads “That wasn’t very nice,” repeating to what the little girl says in the video. After the two women on either side of her crack eggs in the bowl and splash egg on her face, the girl takes her own egg and smashes it against the woman’s face to crack it.

Although she has posted this video without saying anything in the past, this time, Britney had a longer caption. She wrote: “REPOST … IF SHE WOULD HAVE ONLY JUST SLAPPED THE SH*T OUT OF THEM ??… STAY CLASSY FOLKS ?? !!!!  Psss nobody’s laughing when she does it back to them ? … well they are laughing here but what if I showed up there ???”

Later on in the night, the "Mind Your Business" singer posted the video to her Instagram Stories. In the next slide, she left a longer statement for her followers to read. “I’m not complaining about this video … it’s actually really cute but with no sound it has a different effect !!!” she began.

“For me, it feels darker … similar things have been done to me so I look at this with different eyes !!!” she explained. “Most of my inner conflict with people is knowing the enemy is right in front of me but I kept them because I love them !!!”

“I’m extremely sensitive to anybody laughing at someone or bullying in any way !!!” she wrote. “There’s so much I’ve kept private that’s gone on with me personally and maybe one day I can let people know … until then, there’s 3 sides to every story !!! Your side, my side, and the truth !!!”

“The child within is the trust, the girl in the middle is the truth … watch it NOW with no sound !!!” she concluded, urging her followers to give the video another watch with a different perspective in mind.

In her statement, Britney wrote, “Most of my inner conflict with people is knowing the enemy is right in front of me but I kept them because I love them !!!” Since the pop star is estranged from most of her family due to her conservatorship, fans suspect that she might be talking about her marriage to Sam Asghari in this line.

The two met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video in 2016 and became engaged in September 2021, two months before her 13-year conservatorship was struck down by a judge in November 2021. Although the two got married in June 2022, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor filed for divorce on August 16, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, he listed July 28 as the date of separation.

In December 2022, the “Hold Me Closer” singer hinted that the actor might have been “bullying” her and said that she cried in the car after he called her “bonkers” in a since-deleted Instagram post.   “I’m that meditation b—- now ??‍♀️… my husband hates it … he thinks I’ve gone bonkers,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

“Falling deep into yourself … I say all this because I try to make an effort to take care of myself,” she continued. “Normally I forget to eat … I wait way too long and I’m too sensitive so if anything goes wrong at the house it’s like the world has ended.”

“So l got in my car yesterday and I cried … I cried so d— hard but geez, my car is my spaceship ? … it’s where I have my best interests, thoughts, creative urges, ideas, it’s spiritual … totally spiritual and we’re all in this together on the road,” she added, leaving many fans concerned about what their relationship was really like behind closed doors.
