This new post serves as Holmes' first career-related update since getting fired from ABC alongside Amy Robach. It read, "After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News." Amid the controversy and backlash from the public, the lovers tried to get on air again. A source revealed to Page Six that they "pitched" their ideas to popular talk shows and programs like "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to help them promote their romance.

The New York Post also reported in March that several networks were avoiding featuring Holmes and Robach. It revealed their "desperate" attempt to join CBS Media Ventures and the broadcasting company's negative response. There were also recent rumors that Robach had scored a new talk show with NewsNation without Holmes.

Sources allegedly close to Robach later refuted the rumors to the U.S. Sun and said she was "waiting for the perfect gig." According to the report, the TV personality denied that she was starting the new talk show on the anniversary of her exit from ABC News.
