It seems Britney Spears has returned to Instagram after deactivating her account on the afternoon of Saturday, September 16.

The 41-year-old Princess of Pop frequently deactivates and reactivates her Instagram account from time to time. She rarely shares a reason for what prompted her decision to deactivate social media, but her latest social media hiatus might have been inspired by some pretty negative comments on her last post.

On Saturday afternoon, the “Toxic” singer decided to deactivate her Instagram account, but it is now up and running again, minus a few posts that she deleted upon her return on September 17. The deactivation came only one day after a major posting spree on Friday, which included her posting, deleting, and then re-posting, several different posts that all contained throwback photos of various outfits that she wore in her earlier dancing videos.

Although she usually leaves comments off, she decided to turn them on for two different posts. One of the posts was deleted, while the other remained active until she deactivated her account on Saturday. Some of the comments were extremely critical of her social media behavior. “Funny how you allow comments on this post. But not where you look positively psychotic!!” one user exclaimed. “From queen of pop to laughing stock. It’s definitely entertaining,” another netizen commented. Some fans tried to shut down the negative comments, with one fan responding, “Being a bully says more about you than about her.”

“You have to realize that one of the reasons why people are always talking badly about you on Instagram is because you post photo shoots of yourself dancing with just your underwear and no pants. It makes you look mentally unstable. Please keep your clothes on otherwise no normal person will have respect for you,” another user commented.

“Her body her choice," another fan clapped back. "And if you look back at her tours most of them half naked clothes or very revealing clothes and dancing on stage,” they wrote. “She has been doing the same thing for over 20 years but now is a problem because she is not making money or entertaining people and just having fun.”

That being said, there were some fans who covered the comments of "We Love You" and expressed hope that she would be making a career comeback amid rumors that she was going to be releasing new music along with her memoir, "The Woman In Me," which hits bookshelves this October. Fans told her that they preordered her book and were looking forward to reading her "truth."

“You’re a beautiful person and you are too smart for these people who don’t understand what you’re doing/ the meaning of your posts,” one fan commented. “Don’t let them get to you because they like the idea of you being ‘crazy’ and a mess a little too much," one fan commented. "Love to you.”
