Ciara had a good chuckle when the topic of her ex-fiancé came up in a recent interview.
The singer recently responded candidly and hilariously when asked about her co-parenting dynamic with ex-partner Future. The former pair were an item from 2012, leading to an engagement and the birth of their son, Future Zahir, in May 2014.
Ciara Needed No Words To Explain Her Co-parenting Situation
Her witty remark showcased her lighthearted approach to the topic and shed light on the complexities of modern parenting in the public eye. In a recent interview with The Shade Room, the songwriter could not contain her laughter when discussing the famous rapper.
When asked about how co-parenting was between them, the "Level Up" singer laughed it off for 30 seconds, leaving the question in the air. While her reaction to the question was pure comedy gold, that was not all. The mother-of-three also spilled the beans on the criticisms her 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars Party dress stirred up.
The "How We Roll" artist first pointed out that the reactions at the time were varied, as some "came for me, and there were a bunch that showed me love." Regardless, she noted, "In those moments, you just have to be confident in what your vision is." She went on to explain:
"Like for me I had to create a vision in my mind and you know there's nothing better in any aspect of life when your love supports you and what your vision is and you just can't think too much about what people have to say in those moments."
The "1, 2, Step" singer's reaction to the co-parenting question brings to mind the period her ex, Future faced backlash from fans in 2019 on social media for his comments about Ciara's NFL player husband Russell Wilson.
During an interview, the "Mask Off" rapper openly questioned Wilson's masculinity during an interview on FREEBANDZ RADIO on Apple Music. The 39-year-old stated, "He do exactly what she tell him to do. He not being a man in that position." Future suggested that Ciara's beau should be more assertive in their relationship.
He mentioned that if he were in the former Seattle Seahawks quarterback's position, he would set clear boundaries, insisting that she should not even talk about Future or any of her exes.
Twitter erupted with support for Wilson after news of the interview spread, with many criticizing the "Honest" artist's perspective. One fan playfully contrasted the "Pluto" rapper's opinion of Wilson as "lame" with the fact that he is an accomplished athlete and married to the "Goodies" singer.
Another user pointed out the irony, highlighting how the professional athlete, who actively cares for Future's son and is a devoted husband to Ciara, is somehow deemed less of a man. The sentiment from others seemed to be that his perspective was entirely off the mark.
Russell Wilson Shared Heartfelt Tribute To Little Future On His Sixth Birthday
When the tiny tot turned six, the Denver Broncos quarterback took to his Instagram page and referred to himself as the child's "daddy," even though the "Evol" rapper is his biological father.
Wilson expressed his emotions openly in his heartfelt birthday message. He shared a video of them racing underwater in the pool and, in the caption, affectionately referred to the celebrant as his "daily inspiration" and "best friend."
Describing the six-year-old as being "full of Love, Joy, and Grace," the Super Bowl champion added, "I thank Jesus every day for who you are & being able to lead & guide you."
Wilson went on to note that the youngster's "future is forever endless" while praying for him to "swim into every opportunity and obstacle in life with this much Love and Enthusiasm." In conclusion, he penned, "Happy 6th Birthday Future! Daddy loves you! ????"
In return, the little boy's biological father also shared his own birthday message. Via his Twitter account, the Grammy Award winner kept it brief and sweet, writing, "Happy Birthday FUTURE. Love you FOREVER twin."
