While celebs flocked to the Prudential Center in Newark on Tuesday, September 12, for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, Coi Leray was nowhere in sight as she did not get an invite.
The 26-year-old rapper has made quite the name in the music industry since releasing her breakout single "Huddy" and debut mixtape "Everythingcoz" in 2018.
However, despite the VMAs snub, Leray gained the attention of none other than Beyoncé herself, who recently acknowledged her entertaining prowess with the sweetest gesture.
Coi Leray Shows Off Adorable Flowers & Matching Note From Beyoncé
As seen on the "Blick Blick" vocalist's latest Instagram post, she was blessed with a beautiful bouquet of white flowers alongside a touching message from the 32-time Grammy Award winner amid the VMAs exclusion.
"I'm a fan of yours, and I love watching you grow," Beyoncé's note read. "You're a very talented young lady. Love, Beyoncé." The hip-hop star showed off the tribute in two slides, partly captioned, "The queen has spoken .. Thank you for inspiring all of us not only with music but just how you carry yourself with such grace. @beyonce.”
She then added lots of red heart and sparkle emojis alongside a note of gratitude: "Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🏽." The tribute excited many of Leray's fans, who congratulated her in the comments section for still getting a win despite the VMAs rebuff.
One comment read, "And after this day ... nothing ever mattered 🌹 Congratulations 🔥" followed by another: "That's major 🔥 the queen gave you your flowers 💐."
A third commenter applauded the "No More Parties" musician, noting that "they have been on your head a lot lately for no reason," while a fourth fan exclaimed, "Super fire 🔥 love to see it."
One more admirer shared, "She's basically telling you that YOU'RE BIGGER THAN THE NONSENSE AND DRAMA, AND TO FOCUS ON YOU AND YOUR MUSIC❤️❤️."
Similarly, another follower declared, "🥰🤍🤍 love!!! And I agree!" and a seventh added, "On EVERYTHING!!! YOU ARE A GREAT PERFORMER, AND I CAN SEE WHY SHE GRACED YOU.... YOU LIT!!"
Although Queen B's touching gesture may be a delight to Leray, many of her fans were not quick to forget their idol's exclusion from the VMAs, which they strongly reacted to. On Twitter, they dropped their opinions about the blackballing, showing support for the "Trendsetter" musician.

A third supporter claimed, "Coi Leray better than me cuz if I'm an upcoming artist and wasn't invited, i woulda just showed up with the craziest fit."

The 'Baby Don't Hurt Me' Musician Teased New Music While Putting Haters In Their Place
Back in April, Leray announced she would bless the world with new music while sending a message to haters who criticized her songs.
Using a snippet of the lyrics from her then-upcoming single "Bop," she slammed the critics: "AND THESE BIT#*S MAD THEY BLAME IT ON TIKTOK YEA THIS BIT*#S MAD I GOT ALL THESE BIG BOPS!"
After the teaser, the Boston native told her followers, "'Bops' Dropping 4/28." She also uploaded a video showing her in a sultry outfit comprising a shredded, laced-up denim bodice and knee-high boots.

She could be seen dancing to the tune of the single while publicizing its release date, April 28. At the same time, Leray hinted that the song was also to silence those hating on her body.
