Justin Timberlake getting back *NSYNC together on the 2023 MTV VMAs stage was a big thing indeed, and so what if the guys didn't perform, right? Since there is a new "Trolls" Song coming up, that's more than enough. "Feral" millennials say nope, the only thing that would please them, is more of *NSYNC!

You know how the joke goes, "Five guys walk into an elevator..." Well, it's real! Given that Timberlake stepped into the elevator with Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone, for the 2023 MTV VMAs, it's big news indeed. Bringing back NSYNC as the millennials remember it isn't gonna go over with just a song, given the awards night saw NSYNC step back together as a group after 20 years - given that they disbanded sometime in 2002.

At the time, it was simply supposed to be a break, because Timberlake wanted to record a solo album.  The hiatus carried on and the band never got back together, except now, in 2023, they seem to be back, and even the celebrities can't deal with it.

Rita Ora found it "iconic" while Lily Collins could speechlessly send emojis only. Will Smith, on the other hand, had a warning, "Y’all better be makin’ music in that elevator!"

So they did!

Timberlake also put in a small snippet on his Instagram account, where you can hear *NSYNC's first song together in 23 years, "Better Place,” from the soundtrack of the upcoming “Trolls Band Together” movie. Timberlake has been voicing the character "Branch" in the movie franchise and while the song won’t officially drop until Sept. 29, you can hear or pre-save it now at takeyoutoabetterplace.com.

For the millennials, it is like time stood still as you can hear the same glossy, layered electronic harmonies everyone loved *NSYNC for, but with a more feel-good fizzy beat like Timberlake's "Trolls" number, "Can’t Stop the Feeling!"

As Timberlake put it, "When the stars align… got my brothers back together in the studio to work on something fun and the energy was special."

Fans are super-excited but some say, that after more than 20 years, this isn't going to be enough. Wrote one, "This is cute and all. But you fans just got through a pandemic with tiny toddlers and we’re all traumatized, and the kind of feral excitement I feel when thinking about an *NSYNC tour is what we actually need. THAT would be the real love letter. Just take my retirement plan money already!"

Another agreed, further writing, "We are practically begging you to let us throw our money at you for a tour. My bestie even said we survived wars, pandemics, mass shootings, shelters in place... we deserve this."

Given that even Taylor Swift had her biggest fangirl moment over *NSYNC stepping on stage, no surprise that the millennials are begging for more.

Fans feel Justin Timberlake brought back *NSYNC to repair image
MEGA

Not everyone was an out-and-out fan, as some took the "reunion" with a pinch of salt, writing, "I know JT is only doing this to repair his PR image, but I’m so excited for a possible *NSYNC tour. The guys, especially JC, deserve it!!"

More fans agreed, one commenting, "I am super excited for this reunion and this music and so on but i have to say that: as a dye hard fan of Nsync and especially JT, why does this sound like a JT solo song with all 4 just doing background vocals??!! we need all 5 to sing! come on!"

Another Britney Spears fan felt Timberlake was doing this as a direct response to her comeback in the music industry...
