While performing at a Jonas Brothers concert at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Joe Jonas appeared to address his divorce from "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner.

Ahead of performing "Hesitate," a song inspired by Turner, Jonas, flanked by his brothers Nick and Kevin, emotionally addressed the crowd, saying, "It's been a crazy week." The audience erupted in cheers. Jonas went on to say, "I just want to say, if you don't hear it from these lips, don't believe it. Okay? Thank you, everyone, for the love and support to me and my family. I love you guys." Notably, he wasn't wearing his wedding ring.

According to People magazine, during the concert, Jonas dedicated the Jonas Brothers' 2023 song "Little Bird" to a pregnant fan and their 2007 hit "When You Look Me In The Eyes" to a couple who indicated they danced to it at their wedding. In another touching instance, Nick, 30, shared a sweet embrace with his older brother Joe during their performance of the 2019 track "Rollercoaster."

Amid his separation from Turner, Jonas has altered the lyrics of the heartfelt ballad he penned for her. The song "Hesitate," originally featuring the line, "Don't be scared because I'm on your side," was part of the Jonas Brothers' 2019 album "Happiness Begins," coinciding with Jonas and Turner's marriage.

Following Jonas' divorce filing, he performed the song in Phoenix with modified lyrics, singing, "Don't be scared because I'm on her side."

Jonas filed for divorce from Turner, citing that their marriage was "irretrievably broken." The former couple, who began dating in 2016 and married in 2019, had an Ironclad prenuptial agreement, as previously reported by The Blast. They share two children, a 3-year-old daughter named Willa and a second daughter who is 14 months old.

According to the court documents, Jonas is "respectfully" requesting that he and Turner "establish a parenting plan" and a "timesharing schedule" with their daughters.

In their first public comments since their separation, Jonas and Turner made a joint statement on social media. 

They posted on Instagram, saying, "Statement from the two of us: 'After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.'"

The former couple acknowledged that there had been various speculations about the reasons behind their decision but stressed that it was a united choice. They also expressed their hope that everyone would respect their privacy, especially concerning their children. 

According to TMZ, people close to the former couple had reportedly sensed tension in their relationship before Jonas filed for divorce.

The divorce between Jonas and Turner has sparked controversy, with "insider" comments from individuals allegedly close to the couple leading to a heated debate about sexism. According to the Daily Mail, sources assert that differences in their lifestyles played a role, with claims that "she likes to party, and he likes to stay at home."

Some insiders with "direct knowledge" suggest that the "Cake By The Ocean" singer is taking full-time care of their children while on tour while Turner works on her new series in the UK.

However, as these claims circulated, several reports defending Turner and challenging the portrayal of Jonas as a devoted father emerged, criticizing the sexist undertones and motherly expectations placed on women.
