The Queen of Pop, Madonna, is eager to support Britney Spears amid her divorce from actor Sam Asghari and her subsequent career comeback.
The 29-year-old actor filed for divorce from the Princess of Pop, 41, on August 16, 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences" for the split. The two tied the knot in June 2022 after meeting on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016. There are reports that the "Toxic" singer plans to release new music amid the release of her memoir, "The Woman In Me" in October and it looks like Madonna wants to help Britney get her career back on track.
Madonna Reportedly Wants Britney Spears To Be ‘Shown Love’ Amid Sam Asghari Divorce
With the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards coming up, fans can’t forget how the 65-year-old singer once locked lips with the “Oops!...I Did It Again” singer at the 2003 VMA Awards twenty years ago. The “Material Girl” singer reportedly wants to have Britney on stage with her during her Celebration tour.
“She feels it's time for Britney to be shown love, guidance, and support, instead of being manipulated or taken advantage of," one source told Radar Online. "She'd love her to come on tour."
It remains to be seen if Britney will actually join Madonna on stage when her Celebration tour hits Los Angeles, but one insider told the outlet that "it means the world that one of her all-time idols is rooting for her."
Madonna has only recently resumed rehearsals for her upcoming tour after suffering a health scare that threatened to derail her entire tour. Fortunately, it looks like she has recovered and is looking forward to putting on the show of a lifetime for her fans.
Britney Is ‘Grateful’ For The Support She’s Received From Madonna So Far
On August 30, a source told Us Weekly that the “Gimme More” singer is “grateful” for Madonna’s support and echoed the news that Madonna wants Britney to perform on stage for her Celebration tour.
“Britney’s grateful for the support she’s gotten from her friends in the biz — Madonna especially,” said another source. “She’d love to join her, but the question is whether or not she can handle that type of pressure and attention.”
Even earlier, on August 22, a source told Page Six that Madonna has been trying to get Britney to perform with her onstage following her divorce. The two have been close friends for years and even recreated their viral 2003s smooch at Britney’s wedding in June 2022.
“Madonna originally wanted Britney to join her on tour this year,” a source told the outlet. “Everything was pushed back because of her illness, but she still wants Britney to join her at the Kia Forum.”
Their hit song, “Me Against The Music” was released in October 2003. The insider told the outlet that Madonna is hoping that Britney will join her on stage so they can perform the song together live for the song’s 20th anniversary.
