Pregnant mother Kourtney Kardashian recently had to undergo "urgent fetal surgery" for her first child with her husband, Travis Barker.

The Blink-182 drummer recently had to fly home and postpone three shows in Europe due to an "urgent family matter." On September 1, a message posted to the band's Instagram Stories read: “Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States. The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.”

On September 6, the POOSH founder took to social media to inform her followers that she had "urgent fetal surgery" to save the life of her unborn child while thanking fans for their thoughts and prayers. It appears that the 44-year-old mom is back at home and is recovering.

Although many fans have been concerned for the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reality star and her unborn child, a source told People magazine on Thursday night that she was “very scared” ahead of her surgery but “is doing okay now” as she recovers at home.

The 44-year-old mom was reportedly “very scared after finding out that her baby needed a surgery,” according to one source, who added. “She didn’t want to talk about what was going on. She is doing okay now. She is still resting at home with Travis.”

On Wednesday, Kourtney shared a photo of her and her husband holding hands in a black and white photograph. “I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this,” she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post that disclosed her surgery for the first time.

“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery,” she continued. “I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”

“Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing,” she concluded. Canadian model and close friend Olivia Pierson wrote “Sending love guys” while her sister Kim Kardashian’s fitness trainer, Senada Greca, wrote, “Glad you and the baby are safe and well” along with a prayer hands emoji.

Travis Barker Is 'Grateful' That The Surgery Went Well

A short while after her post, Travis took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say that he was “grateful” for the health of his family following the surgery. “God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday,” he wrote on Wednesday afternoon. In the comments, Kourtney wrote, "Praise be to God."

This will be Kourtney’s fourth child. Kourtney also shares sons Reign Aston, 8, and Mason Dash, 13, and daughter Penelope Scotland, 11, with ex Scott Disick. Travis has three children with ex Shanna Moakler: son Landon, 19, daughter Alabama, 17, and stepdaughter Atiana, 24.

In the season 3 premiere of “The Kardashians,” which aired in late May, the reality star admitted that she was “done” with IVF after trying for a baby several times. “We would love a baby more than anything, but I really believe in what God has in store for us,” she said in a confessional. “If that’s a baby, I believe it will happen.”

She went on to explain that she had “seven frozen eggs from years ago, before Travis,” adding, “Most of mine didn’t survive the thaw. Freezing of eggs isn’t guaranteed. It’s a misunderstanding.” She said that IVF also “took a toll” on her, adding, “Being happy and being a good parent is most important. Whatever’s meant to be will be.”

In June 2023, she revealed she was pregnant after holding up a sign at a Blink-182 concert. A gender reveal party posted on Instagram revealed they were welcoming a “little drummer boy.”
