Travis Barker, Kourtney Kardashian Break Silence On 'Urgent Fetal Surgery'

Reality star Kourtney Kardashian is now sharing new details about the "urgent family matter" that caused Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker to quickly head home from Europe.

"Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” read a statement on the band’s Instagram Stories on September 1. “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available."

Many were concerned that there was something wrong with Kourtney and Travis' first child, especially after the two were spotted leaving a medical center in Los Angeles together over the weekend. On Wednesday, September 6, the "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" reality star took to Instagram to give fans new details on her medical emergency.

Many fans were concerned that the 44-year-old reality star had been hospitalized with complications to her pregnancy after Blink-182 canceled their tour stops in Europe, and unfortunately, they were right. On Wednesday afternoon, “The Kardashians” reality star took to Instagram to share a black and white photo of the couple holding hands from her hospital bed.

“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this,” she wrote in the caption.

“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery,” she continued. “I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”

“Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing,” she concluded. Fans were quick to shower her post with thoughts and prayers. “Wow, thank you for sharing, so happy that everything turned out okay,” one fan commented while another follower said that they were “Sending the biggest hugs.”

Travis Barker also took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to break his silence on the situation. "God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby that I’m so grateful went well. I want to say thank you for all the support. Tour resumes Friday," he wrote in the post as fans once again expressed their thoughts and prayers.

In the season 3 premiere of “The Kardashians,” which aired in late May, the POOSH founder said that she was “done” with IVF, adding, "We would love a baby more than anything, but I really believe in what God has in store for us. If that's a baby, I believe it will happen."

She went on to explain that she had "seven frozen eggs from years ago, before Travis,” adding, "Most of mine didn’t survive the thaw. Freezing of eggs isn’t guaranteed. It’s a misunderstanding.”

She said that IVF “took a toll” on her, adding, “Being happy and being a good parent is most important. Whatever’s meant to be will be.”

In June 2023, Kourtney revealed that she was pregnant when she held up a handwritten sign at one of her husband’s concerts. They later took to Instagram to confirm the news to their followers and hosted a gender reveal party shortly afterward to reveal that they were prepared to welcome a “little drummer boy.”

Kourtney also shares sons Reign Aston, 8, and Mason Dash, 13, and daughter Penelope Scotland, 11, with ex Scott Disick. Travis has three children with ex Shanna Moakler: son Landon, 19, daughter Alabama, 17, and stepdaughter Atiana, 24.
