Britney Spears Unfollows Sam Asghari On Instagram Two Weeks After Divorce Filing

Pop star Britney Spears unfollowed Sam Asghari on Instagram only a few hours after he unfollowed her.

On August 16, the 29-year-old actor filed for divorce from the 41-year-old pop star citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. The two have reportedly not been speaking and it looks like they have decided to go their separate ways on social media as well.

On Tuesday night, Sam decided to unfollow Britney from Instagram. It’s still not immediately clear why he waited until Tuesday to follow her, as she hadn’t posted anything since that weekend. One of her latest videos was her dancing in an animal-print body suit that had a plunging neckline to show off her brown bra.

“My HANDS ON MY HIPS SAY EVERYTHING !!! How many times have you guys been lied to or tricked by someone you loved ??? Psss on repeat because well … I MEAN IT !!!” she wrote in the caption of this Instagram post.

Sam hasn't been all that active on Instagram ever since he filed for divorce on August 16. However, he did take to his Instagram Stories a few days after filing for divorce to share three different costumes.

“Help me choose paparazzi disguise,” he wrote along with three different options for fans to choose from.

Only one day after he filed for divorce, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor took to his Instagram Stories to say that he wished Britney “the best always” and dismissed the end of their six-year relationship as "sh*t happens."

“After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Sh*t happens. Asking for privacy seems [ridiculous] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”

One day after he made his statement, the Princess of Pop left a long statement in the caption of an Instagram video that featured her dancing in a black crop top and black boots. “As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!" she wrote. "But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!! In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you !!!"

"I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that !!! I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses !!!" she continued. "If I wasn’t my dad’s strong soldier, I would be sent away to places to get fixed by doctors !!! But that’s when I needed family the most !!! You’re supposed to be loved unconditionally … not under conditions !!!! So I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!! And I’m actually doing pretty d*mn good !!! Anyways have a good day and don’t forget to smile !!!”

Last week, a source told Us Weekly that the divorce “is a new chapter for Britney in more ways than one” as she prepares to make a career comeback.

The insider claimed that she has been “focusing on herself” and working on new music. “The songs will be about freeing herself from negativity and unhealthy people,” the source stated, adding that she wanted to release her new music around the same time as her highly anticipated memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

Another insider told the outlet that Britney is hoping to do a “big sit-down interview” when the book is released this October, however, the source said, “Her team will have to evaluate where she is at to see if she is ready for it.”
