Nikolai Volkoff, a fixture of the WWE in the 1980s, passed away, the league announced on Sunday. He was 70.
No word on a cause of death but PWInsider reports Volkoff had recently been hospitalized in Maryland for dehydration issues.
The Hall of Fame wrestler (real name Josip Nikolai Peruzović) battled the likes of Sgt. Slaughter and Hulk Hogan during wrestling's rise in 1980s.
Volkoff often wrestled with another heel, The Shiek, who commented on his partner's passing as only he can.
